Hi....i need to order a new company car and fancy the diesel RCZ.... ordered a test drive in the GT for a couple of weeks time but now i have a dilemma...
including the benefit in kind the overall cost to me for a diesel GT is £240 per month, the diesel Sport has come in at £163. (less than a boring passat!)
what do the members think?? is the GT worth the extra £77 per month
also the jbl stereo is a £7 per month upgrade...is it any good?

any genuine comments/advice would be appreciated.... regards Howard.

Quite frankly howard, I'm not convinced that it is worth the extra. That said I do have the GT and enjoy all the benefits. If I had to decide would I pay an extra £77 per month then as I say I'm not convinced.
GT gets you 19" wheels opposed to 18" Benefit? debatable. Leather heated seats, not essential (but nice) Front parking sensors, Useful/handy but again not essential. Dipping door mirrors (when reversing) Automatic Windscreen Wipers and Lights all nice but not essential.
The overall car is fantastic and the drive is amazing Sport or GT. Upgraded stereo is a definite NO from me. As the standard is excellent and I couldn't notice any improvement in quality when I tried out the JBL system. (I am really into my music)
My opinions howard for what they are worth

I'd say definitely. If you can afford it get the better model.

Hi Howard

I have the Sport (156) and I'm very pleased with it. My 2 grumbles are that you can't specify leather seats as an option on the Sport (its standard on the GT) and I feel that a car that looks as good as the RCZ from the outside, should look equally as good inside. There's nothing wrong with the cloth seats, they are excellent quality, but you know what I mean. (I got my seats leather re-trimmed professionally so that problem was overcome). The second was the limited choice of alloy designs for the 18" wheels. There should be an equal choice of alloys for both sizes of alloys. The ride on the 18" wheels is excellent though.

I could have gone for the GT model but I wasn't really interested in the extra "toys" that the car comes with. There's still plenty on the sport model and I really didn't want 19" wheels as they do affect the ride quality IMO.

With regards to the stereo system. The standard one is excellent so I would save yourself some money there

I hope this helps you decide. :D

Thanks for your comments/opinions guys... pretty much an even split then between Sport and GT for the extra money...... i think it may well come down to cold hard cash!.£77 per month is £2700 over the company car term...............just glad i didnt order it a couple of weeks go, this months price list is £20 per month cheaper for the GT and £65 per month cheaper for the Sport than last month....no idea why, (unless there are loads available / not selling)
i definately wont bother with the stereo upgrade.... only other options to consider is sat nav at £34 per month (toooo much),interior sports kit at £8 per month ,,,,
So think i'm steering towards a nera black sport or charcoal sport...with no extras.. :eusa-think: ... any ideas on lead times from suppliers on sports in these colours??
cheers .....Howard

I do not have the SatNav, but see sooooo many moan about it on here, good phone does it nowadays anyway. The 19" are a "bit jiggly" so a recent passenger told me, he a bit of an expert on subject (automotive test engineer) so maybe for day to day 18" (and you can get snow tyres,or winter ones to fit)
I find ICE in standard form OK (moan about USB excluded)
Found TDCI engine nice, but got petrol for auto box for wife...............sOK
Colour up to you, we liked the Blue, so got it.
Many winge about steering wheel size, they should try some of the others out there !!!
Company car... well from stage two deployment, not many will know what you got !!, so get the budget right for you.

Internal sports pack gives you smaller steering wheel and gear shift, feels great worth every penny. Sat nav as a sat nav is poor and not value for money, but looks amazing and gives so many other benefits, serious contender on looks/cabin appeal alone. I stay away from lead times as mine are always made to order so take months. I suspect yours may alrady be in stock within the UK somewhere.

Hi it does depend on what your previous company car was? If it had all the toys then you may feel disapointed with somethings missing.
Heated seats are a must unless you want to drive in layers of clothing first thing? The stereo upgrade is very good the clarity is excellent.I think the best option are the headlights,go back to a car that doent have adaptive xenons and you will see what i mean.
Some times nice to have a fully expensed car (tax, running costs and insurance) for £240 a month.
My car took 10 weeks to arrive which is fine, i have had to wait 7 months for a car before!!!
I gave my company car up to buy an RCZ.

sports pack and xenons and alloy wheel choice/design are the 3 major options that do make big improvements on the rcz and dont add too much to the monthly payment.i really didnt like the rcz sport seat fabric nor did i like the 18" alloys they where the only 2 dislikes i had with the sport i lease the the gt for £285 a month over 2 years and if the rcz improves in the next 2 years i will lease another for one the mrs as she loves it and i will move on to my "DREAM CAR" ;) BUT AS THEY SAY............only buy what you can afford at this time

Howard as with anything it is all down to personal opinions, so i will give you mine. I was lucky enough to pick up my GT yesterday and I am absolutely over the moon with it already. Am I glad I got the GT and not the sport? oh yes I am, they may seem like small extras but I think that they add tremendously to the overall driving experience.

As for the SAT NAV I would say it's an absolute must, I have not even started to learn what it can do but flicking through the manual I never dreamt it would do half of what it does. This is a whole lot more than a SAT NAV.

The guy in the peugeot garage said he can not remember the last sport he had sold and i for one can see why.

As I say, it's all down to personal choice and as long as you like what you get thats all that matters.

How long do you spend in the car? If most of the time it's parked up then both look nice. But if you drive it a lot/long commute then surely the interior feature become more important, the quality feel of the GT really makes the car feel extra special and a nice place to spend time in. I had JBL speakers in a BMW and agree the difference is probably not enough to justify the option...order the xenon lights instead! You'll end up test driving the GT and then spend the rest of your time justifying the GT spec to yourself anyway...guaranteed!!!!

hi :greetings-wavingblue:

my RCZ is a company car, do they use a lease company? mine was through lease drive....

whats your allowance pm?

do u have a fuel card? is diesel a must?

the petrol is cheaper, i have a fuel card and in all fairness i think a diesel engine is a waste of time in a sports coupe. it should be a petrol engine for the rev's in low gear.

i have the GT 156bhp with the 19" alloys and feline pack as my extras, the standard stereo is amazing, the bluetooth car kit superb and i didnt bother with the sports kit as i honestly dont care about the size of the steering wheel.

i pay £97 towards my car, and tax is about £600 a year equivalent.

Do you pay £97 a month?

Do you pay for private fuel? or just use the fuel card.

Even with your contribution tax on the car would be around the £650 a year mark? £600 a year wouldnt cover your fuel benefit at 20% rate, these rates will increase over the next couple of years.Expect to pay another £100 a year.

You car works out approx £114 a month at 20 % tax rate , double that if you pay 40%?
