Rcz keeps "misfiring", seems to mainly happen when going up hills. The car seems to splutter, with a complete loss if power. No lights come up on dash thou, had it back with Peugeot many, many times... They can't find a problem. Any ideas much appreciated

I'm sorry to read of your problems and this is the first problem of this type that I have heard of. Have you been to the same garage repeatedly to have this examined? Does the car stall/engine cut out when it happens? It must be somewhat unnerving when it happens!!!

My first thoughts were the spark plugs too but surely they'd have checked them? (He says hopefully but without conviction!)

You say that but the Kemnay dealership never bothered checking mine and it was the solution to one of (my many) engine issue(s). It was either going to be the spark plugs or a coil but luckily it was only the plugs needing replaced.

Ask them what engine codes are being thrown out because the car would surely be noting that something is wrong.
