Hi everyone, looking for some advice or help here. I'm currently on a break in the Lake District (staying in Crook not far from Windermere) from Costa Del Deen. I've been trying and failing to find anywhere that sells high octane fuel. Everywhere that I have tried no longer stock it. I was told today by a garage in Windermere that they can only buy it in deliveries of 35,000 litres at a time and that they were sitting on it for 6-12 months without it selling so most places nearby have stopped selling it. The VXR really isn't recommended to be run on anything below 98 RON although I have had to stick in 97 on the way down as I couldn't find a shell or Tesco garage anywhere.
I'm down to about a quarter of a tank and am getting reasonably anxious to fill up sooner rather than later as we are here for another 3.5 days before we leave and I'm going through quite a lot of fuel on some of these insane country roads (which appear designed for horse and cart rather than automobiles) as I barely get a chance to get out of low gears for much of the shorter journeys and the VXR is a thirsty beast at the best of times! Oh...and rambling for miles isn't really much of an option with Mrs Rizzle feeling rather rubbish at this point in in her pregnancy and public transport isn't great from where we are staying.
Any help would be much appreciated!!! Thanks in anticipation!!
