Welcome :) :greetings-wavingblue:

I wouldn't buy one from Peterborough Marshalls. They arent very good after you buy something from them.

Sorry I cant help with what to look for on a THP200, apart from the standard stuff like condition outside etc.

Hi

Ask about timing chain issues - has it been changed?

Engine Management issues - recurring problem.

Ask to see the service booklet to see if it has been serviced regularly and any warranty work that may have been done on it.

Drive it, see if there is anything obvious.

Good luck

It was at Motorpoint, rear bumper had been repainted by a 5 year old and the front had been touched up

As far as I know dealers can only see the work that has been done on a car by them and not what has been done at other dealerships. Therefore their ability to see the whole repair history of a car is limited unless they have looked after it from new.

Check the mirrors don't 'groan' when you open and close them - lock and unlock the car a few times to check this.

Check the condition of the alloys - known to corrode!

Have we all put you off yet.....?

I was under the impression that any dealer in the Peugeot network could see any warranty work done. I'm pretty sure when I bought my second RCZ, from a different dealer to the first one I bought, he could see on the system, warranty work carried out.

So 10.30 tomorrow picking up a 5000 mile Dolphin blue 61 plate, she's one happy girly

Congratulations

Not too many Dolphin Blue's around. A word of caution. You've gone for the diesel model and stated it will mainly be for shopping and town driving. The diesels are better suited to longer journeys, higher speed journeys in order to recharge the DPF.

I hope you both enjoy it nonetheless :)

bigpea you have bought a great car with a great engine. However........ as RCZ1 has said, it may not be the right engine for her. If, as you stated it will be used "mostly around town and shopping"

The diesel engine has a DPF (diesel particulate filter) which collects the soot from the exhaust and periodically will expel this soot in order to clear the filter and prevent it becoming blocked. To do this the car needs to be driven for approx 30 minutes at a reasonably constant 60 MPH. Otherwise you/she will run into difficulties.

To answer your question on real world MPG take a look at the bottom of my post. You will see that my car has achieved an average of 50.8 since I started to record the data in almost 12500 miles and 24 fill ups. It will do high end 50's on a decent motorway journey and low 50's/high 40's pottering around.

Hope this helps
