Hello RCZ'ers

 Just sold my Mercedes CLK and bought an RCZ 1.6 (156) GT in charcoal. Hope I've done the right thing what with dual mass flywheel and timing chain issues as reported here and on other sites :police: First longish trip she did 45mpg with considerate driving and country roads, looks good in this department. Not so good; she goes back to the dealer tonight for investigation - overnight stand for a cold start up - knock/thud type noise which to me sounds like dual mass flywheel on the way out (52,000 miles). Dealer already performed ECU update; apparently this smooths out the fueling and ignition ( thought that would have been sorted at the development stage pre-production) just how that stops the timing chain tensioner failing :eusa-think: lord only knows. Dealer very helpful so far, have to see how we get on tomorrow. I'm thinking that maybe due to the high clutch pedal which I get on alright with (6ft tall) some drivers rest their foot on the clutch pedal which does the release bearing no good and any extra heat generated increases the likelihood of a DM failure later on. Love the looks, shape and my partner says the car does it for her every time she sees one :?
So from a newbie who has only had his RCZ for 3 and a bit days hello, looking forward to reading positive posts and maybe helping those with RCZ issues. Cheers

Afraid its going to be hard work, drivers side front jacking point has been completely buggered up by some jack moron  Timing chain now proving to be getting noisier (my old TDI golf was quieter) and this morning discovered a pool of coolant under car from middle of engine bay, not looking too good is it! Already requested a 'smeeting with Dealer Sales Manager about returning car. Trying to fall in love with this car but its a bit like drooling about a super model, great in the lights but pants when you get next to them. Lets see now £4-500 to cover the DM assembly and fitting, another £3-350 for the timing chain and I'm guessing at least £40-60 for the coolant leak. Owned car now for three and a half days and I'm wondering what could happen in side four weeks further on??

:greetings-wavingblue: Welcome :text-welcomewave: well, kind of, by the sound of it.

At least when you get the few issues you have sorted, that's probably about it as far as the Z goes for known issues (well, apart from coil packs & various sensor problems)

So hopefully, your nice dealer will be happy to put things right for you & then you'll have a fantastic car that you can enjoy years of admiring glances in & hopefully trouble free motoring

Oh yes & btw...

Would have expected those problems to have been sorted prior to sale really. Sounds like it's going to be a headache for you. Think you have a good case for returning the car so take it back and get yourself a newer one without all the problems if you can.
