 Just sold my Mercedes CLK and bought an RCZ 1.6 (156) GT in charcoal. Hope I've done the right thing what with dual mass flywheel and timing chain issues as reported here and on other sites
olice: First longish trip she did 45mpg with considerate driving and country roads, looks good in this department. Not so good; she goes back to the dealer tonight for investigation - overnight stand for a cold start up - knock/thud type noise which to me sounds like dual mass flywheel on the way out (52,000 miles). Dealer already performed ECU update; apparently this smooths out the fueling and ignition ( thought that would have been sorted at the development stage pre-production) just how that stops the timing chain tensioner failing :eusa-think: lord only knows. Dealer very helpful so far, have to see how we get on tomorrow. I'm thinking that maybe due to the high clutch pedal which I get on alright with (6ft tall) some drivers rest their foot on the clutch pedal which does the release bearing no good and any extra heat generated increases the likelihood of a DM failure later on. Love the looks, shape and my partner says the car does it for her every time she sees one :?
So from a newbie who has only had his RCZ for 3 and a bit days hello, looking forward to reading positive posts and maybe helping those with RCZ issues. Cheers
