Hi there,im not an rcz owner as yet but will be in the next couple of months,we also own an insignia sports tourer 160 2.0cdti and a Vectra diesel but im gettin rid of the vectra to make way for the rcz,im planning on buying a 2011,12 plate car with below 30k,im goin to go for the HDI unit with GT spec spending approx 16K.
i know i may be opening a can of worms but is there any major issues with these cars(little squeaks and creaks i can handle its the dpf's and dmf's and other major issues on cars in general that worry me )cheers for any advice/info lee :wave:

Hiya Lee. I have the Hdi and have had no problems at all. People have reported DPF warning lights coming on, as they didn't use the car "correctly" as long as you do journeys at 60MPH and above for 30 minutes or more reasonably frequently, there are no issues. However it is not the correct engine choice for say "the school run"

ITS A FAR BETTER car than any Vectra/insignia :thumbdown: sorry but vauxhalls :crazy: Through 4 close people and some related to me have had some BIG AND COSTLY ISSUES with especially my brother his Insignia 160 sri has cost him thousands just after the warranty expired close on £4000 with DPF,BRAKES GOING FUBAR :twisted: :twisted:

Rant over :thumbup: go for the PUG unit its a peach and the rcz is a great secondhand bargain get one with Xenons,satnav if you can,ANY COLOUR

I don't own a diesel but those who do seem to rave about them so as long as you do the mileage and regular high speed journeys, you will be fine. There's plenty of examples out there to be had so good luck hunting

Was looking at some for sale today and I tilted the seat as if a passenger was getting in the back and the seat tilted forward but the base of the seat didn't roll forward to create more room to get in,so does the seat roll forwards or does it just tilt?

It may be different in the RCZs with manual seats but it doesn't slide forward on the runners on the electric seats. The seat just leans forward from the base.

ah thats a real shame as theres loads of room to facilitate this up front too-i did look it up and the reviews said the manual/fabric seats shud roll forwards(even tho im lookin at GT spec).thinking back i think the car i seen today had the seats adjusted all the way back so made it a squash for our little un to get in the rear

What you talking about Rizz? Of course the seat slides forward by use of the slider switch. Not a huge amount and not enough to get a lardy arse into the back. But it does slide forward on drivers and passenger side. This is a two seater car that can just about accommodate rear seated passengers.

That's not what I'm saying RON nor what was asked. He was asking if it slides when you lift the handle to get access to the back....which it doesn't. Of course it can be manually moved forward using the switch, however, it cannot be pushed forward (as it does on many cars) when you lift the lever. With me now?

Good morning. I've had my RCZ for six weeks now. At the moment I can't report any issues with it. Apart from a strange compulsion to look at her every five minutes out of the window and a desire to wash her twice a week! Weird. ;-)

So the answer to your question Lee is if you only lift the lever on the seat (as it would appear that you did) then no the base will not slide forward. To get it to do so you need to also use the electrical controls on the seat. Not great, but okqy for occasional use or to gain access to clean the rear window.

yeah the rear seats are just for the kids on odd days out and are only young and small builds so shud still be ok for a gud few years,was easily enough room when i tried my son in the back it was just tight actually getting in.wud of been simple idea tho for pug to have had them tilt and roll at the flick of one lever-they are sold as a 4 seater after all.

Sold as a 2 + 2 not a four seater. They are there to keep the insurance cost down. A two seater would be an expensive sports car whilst a 2 + 2 is a coupe that handles like a sports car :clap:

No I think you'll find Ron is right, in more ways than one The back seats are not seats for all occasions. Only young children can sit "comfortably" in them.
If it was just 2 seats then insurance premiums would be higher as it would be classed as a sports car.

2 + 2 (for occasional use) is not a four seater.
A 2+2 has just two rear seats rather than the more common three. Reasons for this may include a car's more sporty nature, typical low roof line, wide wheel arches, etc.
Space in the rear is most noticeably absent in terms of longitudinal leg-room. This is again often due to the low roof line, and other elements of body styling, in addition to large engine compartments and sometimes also large areas given over to the convertible roof in the case of a 2+2 convertible.

ok fair enough il go with that description ron..but surely a simple slide function on the front seat runner would of been a good idea and wouldnt of cost much diuring production or added much to the weight ,maybe something pug will improve on in future models of the rcz,even if just for odd use it would still be usefull on those odd times needed.
