Hard suspension

Happy Saturday morning fellow RCZ enthusiasts,

Just a quick question, my RCZ is a very hard ride, can anyone recommend a softer spring option please,

If softer springs are used, the suspension would easily reach bottom end with impacts, the result would be even worse.

The original car has the proper springs for the suspension travel.

Also if the shock absorbers are worn it can increase the discomfort.

Hard suspension is intrinsic to a sports car.

Are you on 18" or 19" wheels? Smaller diameter wheels with larger profile tyres will help.

Some brand of tyres also have softer sidewalls if you want to stick with the wheels you've got.

Look at tyre options rather than suspension, it is after all a sports coupe.
You would compromise its handling.

If you think it’s a hard ride, I owned an Audi TT black series prior to my fab RCZ, the Audi ride would dislodge teeth fillings.

I run 29 psi all round - made for a comfortable ride, mpg not too bad

Depends how much you want to spend I’ve changed to Bilstein b14 coilovers and what an improvement still a firm ride but the rebound damping is superb far superior to the standard setup.

Such low pressures are risky:

- The tire wears out faster.
- The tires wear more on the sides.
- The tires run hotter, mainly at high speeds.
- In collisions with curbs or potholes it is much easier for the tire to break on the sidewall.
- Less mileage per liter.
- Inaccuracy in driving when cornering, even in extreme cases, risk of the tire coming off the rim

The pressure must be those indicated by the manufacturer. Maybe there is only the option to raise it a bit, but never lower it.

Whoever bought an RCZ expecting a soft suspension. he/she picked the wrong car

did u get any helpful advice / find a way to improve rock hard ride for general daily driving?

Utter twaddle. Had none of those issues. It's 29PSI not 19.

There is no maximum or minimum, but rather a recommended pressure, which is 2.4 bar on the front axle, which is 35 psi.

Low profile tires are much more delicate when faced with potholes and stones, in the last 35 years I have blown out 4 tires for these reasons, fortunately without accidents.

If I followed the recommendation of my usual tire shop, I would take them even more inflated to avoid blowouts.

Whoever wants to take them lower in pressure will be at their own risk.

I would choose to lower pressures for comfort on higher profile only
