Handfree Number recignition and connection

Hi There :)

In March I got a lovely shiney new RCZ and since having it I have had two main problems with my hands free.

1. often when I get in the car it doesn't pick up my phone. generally by manually deleting my phone and re-pairing it it works bur sometimes I just cant re-connect.

2. The number recognition doesn't work, when I receive a call I just get a ?

I have taken it to the dealer about 5 times now with no luck. They have now told me that number recognition doesn't come with this model even though my old RCZ (60 plate) did work.

Has anyone else had the same? Or does anyone elses number recognition work?

Thanks in advance!!

This is one of those situations where the issue could be the car but also the phone. It may be worth deleting the phone from the car and the car from the phone and starting a fresh, it should ask for permission to sync the contacts which I believe is the problem here.

Thanks DarloBlack

I have done this (I have to repeatedly) and still no joy. I am not sure if the garage saying number recognition isn't available is just a cop out.

Does anyone else with a 14 plate have number recognition?

Can you give a bit more info

1) model of phone.
2) which unit you are connecting it to eg NG4, RT6, etc.
3) what version your car system it at.

I've got a 14 plate with Rt6 sat nav. It pairs perfectly with my iPhone 5s.

When you switch the car on do you ever see a message on the sat nav telling you the contacts are synchronised?

This is a RT6 system
http://www.peugeotrczforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=8219&start=20#p102898

NG4 (which is 2 DIN slots large and has the numbers on to be able to make calls)
Press SETUP select SYSTEM select SOFTWARE VERSION

Both of these have a pop up screen on the dash.

Then there is the system RT3 or RT5 I think which has a small screen with a cowl over it.

It is the latter then as its the small one.

Yes, when I connect it asks if I want to sync contacts then confirms that it has been done but it never tells me who is calling just shows a ?

Thanks so much for your help on this, just want to know if the dealer is fobbing me off

If yours has the 6 cd buttons together at the bottom of the unit then you have a RD5.
In the manual it states
An incoming call is announced by a ring and a superimposed display in the vehicle's screen.

Nothing about displaying the number on screen.

Making a call
From the telephone function Audio menu, select Manage the telephone call then Call, Call list or Directory.

Press the button on the end of the short stalk for more than 2 seconds for access to your directory, then navigate with the thumb wheel. Or to dial use your phone's keypad with the vehicle stationary.

Manuals here if you require

Memory may be playing tricks on me but I swear my old 60 plate showed the numbers from people calling, it was definately the RD5 too. The fact that it displays a question mark instead would indicate that the sytem SHOULD be displaying the incoming number but that it cannot read it - otherwise why display it?

I think we need somebody who has one of those units to confirm.

Thanks all

Yes my 60 plate showed me who was calling.

That was my thought the fact that is shows "answer call from ?" Would mean IT has the capability
