First tip. Release handbrake before you pull away.
Second tip. Use the foot brake not the handbrake to stop.
Adjustment should be done when serviced, minor cost, wear and tear not covered by warranty unless the is a fault.
Guess you knew that and are just winding us up?

No.Unlike you young chaps and chapesses i use my brakes nice and smoothly. And only use the handbrake when on an incline. However i suppose that as most folk on here have the mk1 version, they wpuldnt know anything about a first year warranty. And bearing in mind the age of my car,the service is a long way off. Thanks for the reply though, maybe the others hope i would have an accident,Though they sure like to read my posts.Stands back and waits for the witty replies now.

Now you have spent all your money on a new RCZ why don't you save some money and adjust it yourself!!?

I have looked up on another forum to adjust a 308 handbrake and it sounds very easy!! I'm sure if you tipped your local mechanic or servant as you may call him, a couple of quid he may do it for you!!

You do realise you are going to lose £12500 over the next 3 years in the value of your car!? £2 is quite a small amount to pay, and I'm sure if you asked very nicely they would do it under your warranty as you have recently given them £25000+ of your hard earned cash and it sounds like its a 5 minute job!!

just in case you wanted to do it yourself.... you may find manual labour very rewarding!

Instructions: remove the drawer in the center console near the back seats and then remove the cover that has the two small air vents by pulling it towards the rear seats. Will be visible the stud bolt.

Oh they missed the next bit... Get a spanner and tighten it so the cable gets shorter!! (If you are left handed you may need to order a left handed spanner, ask them in Halfords as they have a whole section of tools for left hand people including screw drivers and hammers)

One tool you will need is a 'long weight' so that you can check the torque setting on the stud bolt. If you ring Peugeot Parts Department and ask them for a 'long weight' I'm sure they will be only too happy to oblige.

Once fixed you could then go to the pub and celebrate with other manual workers

I just spoke to Peugeot on your behalf and they said your warranty is invalidated as you have 4 pedals.

If you have time to fit 4 pedals surely you have time to adjust the handbrake cable?

What does the forth pedal do?

Dont have servants though.Maybe you are confusing me with someone else? Thanks for adding to the post. What do you drive yourself if i may ask?

I have a mk1 & never had this problem yet I'm sure you can have this problem solved by tightening a couple of your nuts, this will shorten your cable & solve your problem, this is only a suggestion if you can wait for my mk1 to have a similar problem I will post you the action taken to rectify it.

Well, the underlyings of the old mk1 and the new mk 2 are just the same.Just that the mk2 resolved the ugly nosecone problem. The car is now booked into the dealer to have the adjustment made.It will be covered by the warranty. As you have the old model it will i presume be well out out of warranty by now so i hope you dont come across this problem. Thanks for your interest in my post.

I had been in hospital all day and could not sleep, so I thought I would spend the wee hours of the morning to reply to your post!!

I treated myself to an old RCZ Mk1 though the handbrake is very good and I am loving the RCZ.

It is a very lovely foot well.. And there is no need to thank me for promoting your July photo competition entry.

I hope you giggled a little at my post as it was not meant to cause too much offence.

Sorry, cant agree,Dont see any generic in the mk 2 but sure as hell see the pug corporate on the mk1.I did see what i thought was an orange mk1 in a hospital car park yesterday I presume it wasnt a docs car.As if the mk1 aint ugly enough at the front.I have the only colour that does the rcz proud.Opal white with the full black monty. :) :)
