I know they only give a Real c 10% better output and need annual change - are they worth it?
From my research, I understand that because the std Halogen light units have such a low E unit no., auxillary lighting is left pretty much wide open. (Max 100 units for total front lights, dips + mains total c. 45, leaving 50+ for aux lighting)
Ideally would like to enhance dips too, however, when roads are clear ahead, a super slim LED light bar(s) should make a huge difference.
U can get pencil beam unit Spots or combi units (wide close up cover too), whilst remaining slim enough to be mounted in front grille. 25 Unit set up should give all the power u need up to 200 metre range
Assuming this turns out to be practical (heat wise) it just leaves the dip beam problem - cannot even tell they are on with cars approaching in the distance...
However much the LED headlight conversion manufs. claim they are now legal with integral projector lense - they are Not. In UK, it is not permissible to put non halogen in halogen shells
As yet, I cannot see any objections to upgrading main beam using Aux lighting with purpose built LED light bars
