Thanks Ron. Yes, pictures don't really do it justice (especially on the configurator). It's a lovely colour and can't wait to get her detailed. I've already started planning which products I am going to use.

Actually, when we arrived at the showroom, there was a young man, polishing the red RCZ. I noted he had a scraggy cloth and only used the one cloth to polish and buff. I was also rather alarmed when the sales exec said he'd asked him to give it a quick polish as it had been out for a test drive yesterday. I was hoping and praying that he meant it had been washed before he'd started polishing it [shock horror !] lol

Actually Ron, it was detailing your wife's red Beetle last year that made me realise how much I wanted another red car. So it's your fault :)

Yes, that was a great day and Bugsy looked brilliant after all of your hard work. I had no idea that it would cost you a new car though

I imagine you won't be having the dealer prepare the car for you?
I've heard of people demand they receipt new cars still with the wrap, they'd rather detail it themselves.
They guy who detailed my car reckoned the majority of paint flaws are due to bad pre-delivery preps.

A lot of people into their detailing do indeed do that these days. However, I'm a bit reluctant to do that because with the delivery waxes and stuff that are on the cars when delivered to the dealer, they can actually mask marks, scratches, etc so if you do find something wrong when detailing it for the first time, it would be hard to proof that you hadn't inflicted the damage yourself.

Besides it gives you some satisfaction to know that you've made the car look better then when it came out of the showroom. Befores and afters are a great thing.

Rang the leather retrimmer, who is in the process of moving to new premises over the next few days. So, will give him chance to get sorted and go along in a few weeks time.

He remembered the RCZ straight away and was very pleased that I was returning for him to retrim the new car. He also mentioned he'd done a few more RCZs after he did mine. Obviously not members on here but I would love to see what colour/design the others had done.

Plans for my new interior are coming along nicely........... :)

Young man, I'm just so excited about getting Ruby detailed, I can't tell you. Every little "detail" is being finalised and recorded on my detailing spreadsheet so that nothing gets missed. It's half the fun of getting a new car, doing the detailing, getting things just right - I love it :).... Can you tell I'm excited ? .... :)
