Fuel consumption!

Is it me or does this car have great fuel economy?
I dared to look at the fuel computer in the last few days and have averaged 43 mpg for the first month of ownership.
Today on a good run i averaged 48 mpg.
Not bad for a 200hp sports car

Yeah - they are pretty good.

My personal record for my old THP200 was 51.3mpg reported by the trip computer for a journey from Carlisle to South Hertfordshire.

Now, OK, there were no traffic hold ups, not even over the moors and I was on cruise control at 65 all the way down the A1.

Nonetheless, it impressed me.

Right the target is 52 mpg lol.
I was hoping for mid 30s so very happy so far my run to work is a fairly steady 50 mph with a bit of town driving.

I did 390 mile last week going to Lynton & Lydmouth i averaged between 70 & 80 down the motorway, there & back i averaged 51mpg & it took £50.00 of diesel so I'm really pleased with the result

How's your new one doing Pete on fuel?

Well, Catherine, I've only done about 40 miles so far.
However, I brimmed it with shell V-Power a Nitro - as is my custom - and the range indication from the trip computer says I'll get about 360 miles before empty. Now I've got to say that, so far, that's not too different from my THP 200 for a typical weekly commute.

I try to keep a good record of mileage and fuel consumption so, if I forget to post an update, ask me again in a few weeks time and I'll let you all know how she's shaping up.

I'll be interested to see how it goes with time. I know it's still early days with Zebedee, but I'd be quite happy to have another RCZ when mine eventually goes. The obvious upgrade choice would be a Zebedee-R :D :D

I did a return trip to Bude on a full tank, 514 miles! And I wasn't hanging about! Hence I also got stopped for speeding, oops!

Almost four hours but that was with a lunch break and a very long 50mph roadworks stretch.

Some of you might be interested to see the graph below. it shows my averaged fuel consumption over about 3 years of RCZ GT200 ownership. Because it's averaged, you don't see the peaks and troughs and - of course - it is dependant on my driving style, typical routes etc., although I have neither moved house nor changed jobs, so my daily commute is pretty constant. One thing of interest, however, is to note the gradual improvement in this averaged mpg over the first 6 months or so. (also shown is the same information in l/100km, read on the right hand scale).

I'll be doing the same sort of thing with the new 'R, so we'll see how that turns out.
