Having seen a frozen car for the first time I wanted some advice.

Is this the best thing to stop the windows freezing at the top:

Any application tips would be great too

Absolutely Perky

I use this. Yes it is expensive but you will probably never need to buy another bottle of it as you only use a tiny amount, so it will last forever.

You just need a drop on your finger or a small section of cloth and just spread it along the rubber. Then gently wipe to buff.

If you ever need to buy another bottle of this product, it will be because you dropped the last one and spilled it's entire contents. It may appear expensive, but it's fantastic value for money and it works for what you intend to use it for too

I have to be honest, even in the colder climes of Alaskadeen, I've never found this to be a problem and, whenever they've been a little "sticky" because of ice, a little de-icer has sorted them out.

I had this problem in my 406 coupe and it knackered the window, caused a problem with the window when I eventually got the window down. Don't want that happening again!

What am i gonna do when it freezes shut at the bottom of the window? The bit that goes into the door. The upper bit/frameless part is no problem but getting the window down into the door is a bigger issue.

rain x is your answer. it slows the build up of ice on the windows leaving an almost perfect slippery skin. i defrost the side windows getting in with cold water normally. soon as it hits the window it melts ice and beads off the window.

sometimes not even freezing due to the alcohol in the product.

If you think Rain X is good, I suggest you try Gtechniq G1. A glass coating which really lasts. Up to 2 years or 20,000 miles.

I have applied the Swissvax all around the rubber seals. That included the lower part too. The Gtech G1 (I think that it is) will also reduce ice formation on the glass. I know my car never gets as bad as my neighbours and is a darn site easier to remove any ice that forms.

Edit RCZ1 posted at the same time as me and so it is G1
