Hi all, I've seen a few RCZ's with an aftermarket front splitter and can't figure out which one it is. I've already ordered a "universal" type off Amazon and no big surprise, it doesn't fit.

I've scrolled through pages of front splitters on Ebay and Amazon but can't find this exact one, does anyone know what this is? I suspect its not made specifically for an RCZ, could be for an Audi TT and just happens to fit but I really need a front splitter if you can tell me what is this exact one?

Yes they have the bits that look good but they charge ridiculous prices when they are made out of the same ABS plastic that cheap chinese ones are, and I have no doubts they actually get their own ABS parts made in China as well, probably the same factories that make the Aliexpress ones.

Thing is, they obviously offer high quality parts (the carbon fiber stuff) but when it comes to the ABS Gloss stuff, they are clearly marking up the prices enormously just because it has their name on it.

I get it, but at the same time, I'm not paying 89€ for a part made of the same stuff, of the same quality, but slightly different design when I can get almost identical part as these at 10€ on Aliexpress lol.

Here is the ABS Gloss rear side splitters from Aliexpress:

Here is the Maxton ABS Gloss rear side splitters:

I've actually got the Aliexpress ones and I COULD put them on but I'm not entirely happy with the result, so I can see the Maxton ones are better suited shape wise, but be that as it may, its not worth ten times the amount just for that.

I'd rather customize the Aliexpress ones to suit, which is what I think I'm going to do at this stage.

I fitted their full front splitter & 2 side skirts + boot spoiler which to me looked like good quality parts with full fitting instructions if needed as for the copies out there some are maybe near the exact design but a lot of copies are made in China?

Their ones are definitely made in China too, the only point of difference is the part is made to their exact specification. Couldn't comment on their carbon fibre parts or where those are made or if they make themselves, but the ABS stuff is all the same.

I kept looking and found a front lip that is extremely similar to the Maxton one, made of the same material (looks identical) but its supposed to be for a BMW M1...but using my powers of perception, I think its a pretty close match and could fit lol.

But the best part is, this lip cost 28€ instead of the Maxton 350€....

I'll keep you all posted, if it succeeds then I'll pop up a photo. If it fails miserably, then I'll move on to doing my own custom lip.

Hey, still don't have the lip, I ordered it and shipping has taken a lot longer than it should of, no idea why but I got a notification its in the country now, so probably another week until I get. Will definitely post the outcome. You can let Maxton know their days are numbered ;)

I doubt it I had my parts from British warehouse where a lot of imported stuff is held in stock within 3 days & the Chinese use Airfreight to shift theirs but who cares I bought 6 DeWalt 18v expensive machines from China for a 1/3 of the European price & my lads reckon they have been workhorses so where do you draw the line

The fact is you can buy a brand new car but is every component made by the Car maker everything is outsourced be it parts for planes trains & Automobiles & everything in between your right when you say its made in China the difference is what isn't regardless of the Brand or badge same with car body kits nothing is what it appears to be as for the DeWalt tools they are an American owned company but the actual products from China are engineered in Germany or are they ?

China makes most things, and lots of brands try to hide how much of their product actually is made there. For instance, even luxury brands like Louis Vuitton bags, they say they are made in France but in reality, 80 to 90% of the bag is made in China, then they ship them to France for putting on logo's and other bits, then can legally say 'Made in France'.

This is why I refuse to pay retail for anything without looking for a better way to source it cheaper if possible.
