Forum Terms and Conditions - Site Rules

The basic ground rules for discussions on PeugeotRCZforum are simple: be polite, use common sense and don't break the law.

We reserve the right to remove, modify or move posts or profiles at our discretion and without explanation. Your access to this site may be terminated immediately at our sole discretion, with or without notice, if you fail to comply with any provisions set out in these terms and conditions. We don't intend to censor messages based on the opinions expressed within posts, but we will enforce the policies outlined both here and on the Forum.

You are strictly prohibited from posting or transmitting any unlawful, threatening, libelous, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic, or profane material that could constitute or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense or otherwise violate any law.

Without limiting the foregoing, the following behaviours are strictly prohibited:
• Strong, vulgar, obscene or otherwise harmful language,
• Racially, ethnically or otherwise, objectionable language,
• Harassing, intimidating, stalking, insulting or threatening other forum members,
• Posting to insight friction, negative reactions or posts designed to cause disruption within the forum,
• Online vandalism,
• Libelous or defamatory language,
• Having multiple user accounts (e.g. to bypass user bans) ,
• Posting, distributing, transmitting or promoting illegal content,
• Posting, providing, transmitting or otherwise making available any materials or information infringing on the rights of a third party,
• Repeat Posting. If no-one answers your question, bump it rather than posting it again and please don't post the same question in multiple forums, just the most appropriate one.
• Posting, providing and transmitting any junk mail and spam. This includes use of this site as a redirector to another site for the purpose of collecting click benefits. This also includes the use of Private Messages, email, signatures, and forum posts, via this forum, where the sole purpose is to solicit membership. (i.e. Usage of member lists and publically accessible personal information contained within these forums).
• Posting adverts, links or comments for personal commercial gains without prior approval of site admin. Please contact us regarding advertising rates should you wish to sponsor the forum.
• No Personal Insults/Abuse - You are free to disagree with other posters, but if you stoop to personal abuse or attacks, your post(s) will be deleted. If you ARE insulted then report the post! PLEASE do NOT retaliate. If you do retaliate you are no better then the abuser and you too will treated as an abuser as above.
• When quoting other posts, your quote must be a true representation of their quote.
• Please keep personal chat (except for in General Chat forum) to a minimum. If your chat is not of interest to other users, please use the PM feature of the forum.
• Before posting, do a search. Your subject might have already been covered.
• Keep posts on subject (as per title). Obviously posts will deviate, but please consider starting a new thread if appropriate. If posts move to personal chat, please use the PM function or move it to the general chat section.
• If you have a problem/issue we encourage you to share it with the forum. Please start a new thread or post about it in the relevant thread/section. Please do not duplicate your posts at every occasion possible, a simple link back to your original post will suffice.
• Personal Messages (PMs) are just that. Please only publish these if all parties agree.

INFRACTIONS
In order to keep the forum and enjoyable environment for all the site team may restrict your use of the forum should you fail to comply with the above rules. PeugeotRCZforum operates a 3 strikes policy.

1st Infraction - Results in 1 week ban from the forum.
2nd Infraction - Results in 2 week ban from the forum.
3rd Infraction - Results in 1 month ban from the forum.

Any infraction over and above this will result in a permanent ban. Infractions will be recorded for a period of six months before they expire.

Moderator Code of Conduct

MODERATOR CODE OF CONDUCT

Moderators are subject to the same rules as members, and other guidelines used to help set an example for the members. This section outlines those guidelines, the tools moderators use to efficiently moderate their forums, an explanation as to how new moderators are chosen, and a list of reasons why you could be removed as a moderator.

Staff Forum privacy.
There are reasons why certain forums are viewable by members of the forum staff only. They contain sensitive forum information, and information that is not deemed "accessible" by the general population.

As a moderator with access to the "Forum Staff" category, you are trusted with the responsibility to not disclose anything posted in the Private Moderators' Forums. Failure to abide by this guideline may result in your immediate access removal to the Private Moderators' Forums, or your immediate removal as a moderator.

Fair Judgement
As a moderator, it is your responsibility to execute fair judgement. It is important for you, as a moderator, to be able to make decisions regardless of personal interest, relationship, or benefit. If you are unable to do so, then, you are unable to do your job to it's fullest. A major part of moderating here at PeugeotRCZforum is interacting with other members. You are expected to treat all members the same. IF PERSONAL INTERESTS, RELATIONSHIPS, OR BENEFITS HINDER YOUR ABILITY TO MODERATE YOUR FORUMS TO YOUR FULLEST RESPONSIBILITY, YOUR MODERATOR STATUS MAYBE TERMINATED.

Activity
As a moderator, you are required to be an active poster and visitor of the forum(s) you moderate, as well as a visible rule-enforcing figure. If you have not posted in 30 days, you are also subject to be removed as a moderator. Failing to inform the administration, and your co-moderators that you are going on a leave of absence may also result in your removal as a moderator of a specific forum, or completely.

Application of the Site Rules
It is your responsibility to not only be an authority figure in your forums, but to also be an example in all of the forums you visit. The members emulate the way moderators post and carry themselves, because they figure that everything you do is within the rules. If you violate the rules, you set a bad example for the members. You should be fair and even handed in your application of the site rules. You cannot take action against any member of the site for anything other than breaking the site rules. You may disagree with a point of view or dislike a particular member but they are entitled to their views and will enjoy the freedom of the forum unless said rules are broken.


Going Off Topic
Unless particular members are being deliberately disruptive, Moderators should simply gently steer the thread back on topic by participating in the thread. As much possible, Moderators should avoid telling posters to "stay or get back on topic". This is a social site, not a reference manual and as such it is expected and acceptable that some threads may deviate a little. There are exceptions and you should exercise good judgement.

Above all, Moderators are expected to be fair and balanced ambassadors for the site and should at all times be polite and respectful of all other members of the site, even when policing and applying the rules. The members of the site are your "customers" and the forum is better for their contribution. Remember that in all that you do as a Moderator on the site.
