Hi,
My 2010 RCZ 1.6 200 (43k miles) has a temp gauge overheating problem...
In March, it developed a severe coolant leak that I took to a Citroen & Peugeot specialist down the road from me which they diagnosed a cracked water pump and replaced. Few days later, still leaking, so took it back and they diagnosed the drivetrain rubbing on a mesh water pipe... Lockdown then happened, they shut down without notifying me and I had their Citroen C1 courtesy car for two months before they reopened while my car was stuck inside their garage. They changed the water pipe, showed me the old one which was torn, and I've had my car for two and a half weeks now without issues.
However today the temp gauge started wildly fluctuating again. It was fine at 90 and then jumped up to the limit, red engine temperature warning popping up but then jumped back down to correct temp. It fluctuates up and down from normal temp to slightly above and once more hit the limit before jumping back down.
There does not seem to be any coolant leak anymore as there is no coolant puddle underneath the car this time and it has been fine for the past couple of weeks. I am at a total loss, and am unsure whether to trust sending it back to the same place and am considering bringing it to the main Peugeot dealer near me...
Any ideas from anyone what this possibly sounds like would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks.
EDIT: Ok so I see there's a temp sensor thread stickied, and the spike and subsequent settling detailed there matches my problem. However mine also seems to hover slightly above 90 normal temp and rise midway and fluctuate in between high temps and normal, is that possibly indicative of a different issue?
