I had a mate come around to have a look at the car, he was impressed (every one is :D ), and I was telling him all about how peugeot had upped thir build quality standards etc etc  , just as I went to show him the auto spoiler thingy. I pressed the button . . . . and up popped the spoiler thingy, but it was accompanied by a loud squeak

eeeeeeeak !!

He looked at me, and said, "Upped thir standards have they, I'm no expert, but I don't think it should make that noise" ;)

I put it down, eeeeeeeeak  and then up again  , eeeeeeeeeak

When he had gone, I rushed into the garadge to get some WD40 :!:

pssst . . . pssst . . . on the two rods that lift up the spoiler thingy, and Hey Presto . . . :D , all quiet again !

I have been jet washing it quite a bit, so maybe I washed the grease off, I will put some proper grease on them when I get the chance.

 Only because I could see myself in your situation trying to dispel the Peugeot quality fears to friends, only to be confronted with an eeeeeeeeak .
STOP playing with the spoiler button :eek:uch: ( I can already hear me saying this to myself and I haven't even got the car yet). I think this button will be one of the most used buttons in the first month of use

I agree although gtomo is the first person to have said that they press it. I'm already planning the speedy route home so that the spoiler will go up of its own accord :D

Nice use of smilies pughy3 :eek:uch:

Vass, unless you press the button, how would you ever get to see the spoiler thingy in the MAX SPEED position :?
Given that the speed limit is 70 MPH :police: . . . . . ;)

I also have this eeeeeeeeeeekkkkkk sound when the spoiler is raised. Is your WD40 the spray on kind and if so, at which joints did you spray ?

The spoiler mechanism runs on plastic grooves which get dry and give off a squeek or in my case a sort of groany guggling noise, quite embarrasing when you flick the switch at a pedestrian crossing, its sounded like the car had wind

I cured this with a bit of wd40, however as wd40 tends to dryout quickly i then used spray grease into the little grooves, that was 2 months ago and my car is still wind free

Ps, its best to have someone operate the spoiler a few times as you lightly spray into the grooves .
