Hi all!
Picked up my 156 GT on thursday evening and thought i'd share some of my first impressions with you. I went for nera black with grey leather, jbl sound system and the vision pack.
The Dealer: Absolutely wonderful as always. No hassle from start to finish, handover was perfect, salesperson even takes you for a quick run around the lot to ensure the car is 100% before letting you loose. Even helped me get my phone synched on bluetooth and my usb stick working in the stereo. A big  for Victoria at Charles Hurst! The only thing i'd have liked was a full tank of fuel... but shall not complain as my old car was deep in the red when I left it back :eusa-whistle:
Interior: Top notch! The seats and steering wheel adjust every which-way. Dash material looks great (my brother thought it was real leather!), the instruments look expensive and the climate control is excellent. Obviously just my own opinion, but this car is a much nicer place to be than my brothers much more expensive 3-series coupe. The rear seats are tiny, at best you're going to get one adult back there for a short journey (alternatively it makes a great place to keep your jacket!) but I bought this car with the knowledge it was essentially a 2 seater, so not a problem for me. I do, however, have one niggle... sitting in my proper driving position the stereo controls are easily 2 inches out of reach due to the raked back console. If it wasn't for the fingertip controls this would be a serious problem for me.
JBL Hifi: Incredible sound system, well worth the money and actually probably more. The sound is crystal clear, nice deep bass, and will easily make your ears ache before you get the volume up high enough to hear distortion. If you like your music buy this - do not go after-market, I don't think you'll be disappointed!
Vision Pack: Again, for the price Peugeot are asking this is well worth the money. Once you've driven a car with xenons you'll be loathe to go back to halogens - the intensity and clarity of the light is simply in another class. The directional headlights are something i've never experienced before, but one evening of driving with these things and i'm convinced they should be fitted as standard.... the light is focused where you need to be looking instead of where the nose is pointing.
Engine: Bearing in mind that I am trading up from a 136bhp diesel... the engine on this car is silky smooth, responsive, and thanks to the turbo has more pull than a normal petrol engine. Extremely efficient when you are behaving yourself, and great fun when you want it to be. After 70 miles of cruising about and 20 miles commuting, with no real effort to be economical, i'm showing an average of 37mpg. For comparison, the same type of driving would have produced about 39mpg on my old diesel.... who'd believe I traded in a diesel for a more powerful petrol engine and only lost 2mpg?! Word of warning - this is a very quiet engine, if you don't pay attention you can easily end up going much faster than you intended to!
Exterior: I don't need to tell you how stunning the car looks, be prepared for a lot of attention! I've had folks flashing their lights at me, strangers waving to me, and other drivers even giving way to me just to get a better look at the car! Tip regarding the spoiler... if you open it manually, to close it fully press the button and hold it for a second. Just tapping the button only puts it down to the middle setting.
SUMMARY: Be prepared to wear a huge grin every time you take your RCZ out. This car has the feel good factor included as standard
