3 months on, and I'm sorry to say that I have just sold my RCZ and gone back to a Chrysler 300c.I was very disappointed by the Peugeot dealerships after sales and servicing. I would not recommend them (Robins and Day North Birmingham) to anyone. Had a massive problem with the RCZ cruise control, somedays it would work ok, other days it refused to operate, or only worked intermittently. I would have to stop the car, switch off the engine and switch it on again to get it to work. (Windows operating system? - joke). Then to cap it all the throttle locked open and I very nearly ran into the back of a car on the M42 motorway. The service department could find no fault, despite having the car in for 2 days.

I ordered a protective boot tray from the official Peugeot accessories site, got an email telling me it was in the dealership and I could collect it, but the spares department there said that they had never heard of the Peugeot site and I could only order spare parts through them. They event suggested that I'd bought it from ebay, despite an official Peugeot order number of the email, which they said they didn't recognise as a valid number.

To cap it all, when I said that I wasn't happy with my car they offered me nearly £10k less than I'd paid for it just 8 weeks before. And wanted me to pay another £6k on top to get a 508SW as a replacement. The attitude of the service, spares and sales departments was condescending and arrogant and made it seem like my fault for putting extras on the car which they said had no resale value. So as I said, I have taken a huge financial hit and swapped it for a 12 month old 300c. It's a shame, but I couldn't put up with the ongoing problems and bad attitude from the dealership. I will miss the RCZ and every time I see one I have to give it a real good look but hey, life's to short to have regrets. I've had some fun but its time to move on.

All the best to everyone here, and thank you for your kind words of support when I joined. Sorry to leave you but that's how it is.

Andy so sorry to hear this what a shame, once these dealerships have your money they really don't want to know after if something goes wrong, I after say I deal with Evans Halshaw Stourbridge & find them to be okay. All the best for the future & with your Chrysler, I have to say your Z was gorgeous.

Well we knew that when you make your mind up to do something you do it. Such a shame that you lost all that weight in order to get the car and now because of yet another shoddy dealership experience you have taken such a hit to get rid of it. They will make a small fortune reselling that car. The number plate alone will help to sel it.

So sorry for you Andy. Life sure can be crappy at times

Were they unable to fix the problems? I think if have taken the car to another Peugeot dealer for it to be looked at. As with all manufacturers there are good and bad ones.

Just read Andy's post and its a shame that in the end he had enough of what is a truly original car ,,and with the right Dealership network has the potential to be an even greater car!

There is only one true loser in this regrettable episode AND ultimately it's NOT Andy ,,its PEUGEOT as each disgruntled customer is a nail in the coffin no matter how BIG or small the manufacturer is !

.the big blue (..continually surprised by the actions OR inactions of SOME of the individual Peugeot dealerships and would like to put a motion forward at the dispatch box that the Forum creates a "Name and Shame/Praise" for the dealerships we use reporting both Good and Bad interactions which will be of interest and benefit to all Forum members).

A great idea in theory, however would probably be less so in reality. Members are country wide and therefore unlikely to come across the same particular dealership. To work in a fair way the dealership should have a right of reply, which again is not practical. Finally "one mans meat is another mans poison" as my daddy used to say. You can't please everybody and some people get upset over something that others would not. I struggle to understand how these businesses survive performing as they do. Our only recourse is to vote with our feet.

Hi' OO58RON, :greetings-wavingblue: you are right in what you say as with hindsight I will step up to the dispatch box and ask that my knee jerk and ill thought out proposal be quashed ,,then again government seem to favour both knee jerk and ill thought out policy all the time!!

Seriously though, voting with our feet as you said is the one true way to make a point. It's just that I'm new to Peugeot and I can honestly say purely from the Forum posts i've read that as a Manufacturer network they do seem severely lacking in certain areas, AND without clear direction from the top, the dealership network varies in areas which should be clearly defined! temp sensor recall, jacking point denials, servicing.

In respect of the latter, brake fluid change two years or not, AND if its only a "recommend" then its not a warranty 'essential' in my humble opinion AND in a legal one I bet too. In the same way that an engine oil change never appears as a mere "recommend" in any service schedule, it simply states replace meaning that if you fail to do so then liability rests with yourself and not the manufacturer!

.the big blue (..BUT, regardless of these quirks we still love our Z's and the feelings they evoke :auto-car: ,,BUT at the same time we all have individual breaking points which (dealership permitting) we hopefully never endure.

And another particular quirk of the dealerships is choice of oil. Peugeot recommend a particular brand and type of oil, apparently designed for our cars and yet one member stated that he was quoted two prices for a forth coming service, one using this oil and another price if using a non recommended oil :eusa-think:

What is that all about? Surely a Peugeot service from a main dealership ought to be carried out using all genuine and recommended parts. All servicing should be identical through out the entire network. No optionals, simply "this is a 20K service therefore we change this and that and check this and that" or do I live in a too simplistic world?

If you buy a car with a "full dealership service" what does that mean if they do not service a car to a standard?
