Hi all, another new member to this forum.

I took delivery yesterday of a brand spanking new Red 1.6 Auto RCZ. I set my heart on one of these but needed to loose a lot of weight just to get in the door. I hit my target and lost 10 stone, so my treat was the RCZ. I used to drive a Chrysler 300 - as it was just about the only car I could fit in comfortably - but I love my RCZ and have just put the first 90 miles on the clock.

One other thing, the reg - MY63 RCZ - how cheesy is that? :D

Welcome to the forum Andy

So pleased for you that you are now in the car that you wanted. You set yourself a target and set your mind to it and achieved your goal. Your RCZ will mean even more to you too. Enjoy it to the full and don't forget to post some photos of your pride and joy.

Nice choice of colour too

I heard a similar thing the other week. I was talking to a young lad about his RX8. I like them and thought about buying one once. Anyway this lad had seen a review on Top Gear and remembers Clarksons comments and fell in love with it. Being a schoolboy at the time was a tad too young. He started putting money away and six years later he got one. I so like to hear how people want something badly enough and eventually manage to achieve their dream.

Proud of ya Andy, Well done. You will enjoy your RCZ and so you should

Wow, thanks everyone for all the really kind comments.

I'm sure I'll enjoy being a member here, and look forward to learning more about my car and the forum.

I've added a picture - hope I've done it right - not sure how every thing works here yet.

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy and welcome to the Forum :greetings-wavingblue: .

The goal you set yourself and achieved with your weight loss must have taken both personal determination & passion  Those two qualities I'm sure will make for a worthy Z owner AND the fact your car is RED means that you'll need those qualities in abundance to keep your Red Z to the detailing standard that RCZ1 meticulously exhibits for the red variants out there!!

Awesome post Ron!
Thank you young man.

This lad really impressed me, as he had remembered exactly what Clarkson had said all those years previously. I don't recall the words a few weeks after being told them. He knew almost everything about the car, as he had been studying it for so long. This knowledge was about how it works and not just how it looks. His one failing was that when the time had arrived to make his purchase, he was so eager and excited that he didn't notice or enquire about the cost of the road fund licence. It ran out the same month that he bought the car. (from memory) It was something like £635 per annum, he could only afford to tax it for six months, having depleted his funds with the initial purchase. I so admired that young man

Seeing how 'cheap' everyone elses deals seem to be is certainly making me wonder! I've lost a whack on Amber and consequentially wouldn't have the same big deposit ..... but if I can squeeze £1.5K out of Amber then it's a possibility. Depends on what Steve goes for next .... he's eyeing up Porsches but he changes mind like socks! We need at least one decent car between us and the RCZ isn't exactly practical. I still turn to look at Amber every time I park her, not sure any other car will make me want to do that!!
