fault warning

well this is bizarre, but I'll post anyway to see if anyone else has had something similar. Twice on the same piece of road at exactly the same point my engine light has come on and the car has put itself in safe mode, the road is a piece of motorway where there is a very long, quite severe right handed bend. the car also brings the cooling fan on maximum like its trying to cool. checked all fluids and they are at the correct level.

Any ideas?

Any thing in the vicinity that might be an influencing factor - TV/radio transmitter, radar from airport, military base, quarry/blasting site etc?

guys,

thought I would bring you up to date with what happened with the fault now I have it sorted, especially for anyone else who might develop a similar issue. I finally managed to get the car to fault close enough to a Peugeot garage to limp there and get it on the Diag machine. The fault pointed towards a dodgy coil on cylinder 1 as well as a new software upgrade. although this has appeared to have fixed the fault I still have a number of questions:

1. Why on earth would a faulty coil fix an issue with going round a right handed bend
2. Should't Peugeot notify owners of software upgrades

£130 all in but they did clean it for me while in the workshop !

Had a similar problem with a 306 many years ago. Rumour had it there was a whole batch out in the field. If I remember correctly, I replaced at least 3 of mine over a couple of years & I think they changed manufacturers eventually.

Coil pack problems are the name of Fiat 500 twinair owners lives. I don't think there is one on the road that hasn't had them all replaced!

Hi everyone, I'm new to owning a rcz and have had a problem after just 40 miles of owning the car (2011 156hp petrol with 22000 on clock).used Ok for 2 days then on third car started juddering with lack of power like running on 3 cylinders and engine management lights came on also cooling fan (engine wasn't even warm) turned it off and called garage restarted it to take it in and all was Ok apart from engine management lights. back to dealer and was told one of the ignition coils was wrong type and burnt out spark plug, 4 new coils and spark plugs later another 40 miles and same prob again, anyone else had a problem similar to this? Cheers lee
