Okay i'll keep this short, have the dreaded engine temp fault gauge goes straight into the red seconds after starting hot or cold. I have changed the sensor and also the connector plug but problem still exists. If get the car up to temp and just put the ignition on the gauge reads properly, start the car and straight into the red. Heating gets hot and radiator too. When I put a OBD reader on the car and go live the temp is right, when I ask for the graph it is erratic but mainly reads +50oC above the correct reading every now and then it reverts to correct temp for approx a sec or two. Any ideas? tested both sensors in hot water 5k ohms cold dropping to less than 1k hot.

I'm thinking its the Thermostat which if faulty sends the temp gauge all over the place & it can even knock off your air con

Yes there is & the ECU controls it to increase combustion efficiency (faster warm up) & emission's

Okay changed thermostat and housing and another sensor just incase, same story. I have checked wiring from the ECU, skin colour cable No 1366 5v from pin 2.3v from cable at connector. Yellow cable I take it as earth as no voltage just continuity.
