Hi Guys,
My 1,6thp RCZ is not reaching engine temperature, thermostat staying open, have replaced it twice and at some point (last winter) it was all working again. Now this summer have the same problem and the A/C is also not working, can do an OBD2 reset, no errors but everything starts working again. I have read somewhere when the engine won't reach temp it will block the A/C. Have also done BSI Rest and it worked for 4 or 5 engine starts but eventually same problem. Thermostat open and no A/C.
Thanks
Brian

What make/brand of thermostat housing have you fitted (if not original)?
I have heard some have issues with some.
I have Mahle and no issues to date 🤞

Hi Eddie,
It’s a Mahle, that would be 3 thermostats with the same problem, practically impossible but I suppose you never know.
Thanks

Shoot, 3 fitted and failing the same, I hope that’s not a precursor to what’s in front of me.
I am guessing you have also at some point flushed your cooling system and replaced with the correct coolant type.
I have had no ac for a few weeks and thought I’d lost my gas, so was planning a re gas.
I checked the two speeds and the thermo operation on launch scanner, fan you can hear thermo you can’t so took scanner as correct.

I had noticed the weep hole on the pump to be stained pink, though no noticeable coolant drop, so when I serviced it I changed the pump, ran the car to temp to bring on the fan, have a thermo housing and cross pipe in the garage but trusted the scanner……hoping/concluding gas was my issue.
