Engine noise

Greetings Gentlemen,

I'm an RCZ owner from Hungary. I was very happy when I bought my RCZ 3 months ago. It was love at first sight but then it turned into an unpleasant experience. I had quite a few problems with my car: loss of turbo, 'engine repair needed' warnings, complete cylinder head replacement, clutch problem.

My recent problem comes from the engine. Cold start or warm start, it doesn't matter, there is a constant rattling noise. I uploaded a video about it:

Did you experience anything like this before? Do you have any idea what this could be?

*A mechanic from peugeot checked the timing chain and he said it's fine....

Hi Diad,

I can't help. My car is only 5,000 klms old.

BUt what I'd like to know (and it would be good if people could provide these details when describing faults) is, is the car used, how many kilometres are on it, what is the year of manufacture.

Because you've just said you've had the car for three months... about the same as me.. but I've had no hint of any of the issues you've mentioned (thank goodness). Mine is new and under warranty, so if I get any hint of what you're describing then I suppose it's all covered.

Anyway, total kilometres would be appreciated.

I now have a picture of Ron in my mind, detailing his car, wearing a lovely lime green mankini [shock horror]. I may think twice about helping him out in future :)

Thanks Diad for those details.

It's certainly not a lot of Ks.

I like the idea of the 2 year factory warranty extension... wondering if it covers you at this time.

Beyond that, I can't suggest much. But I appreciate those details and I'll check your video a little later, I'm back at work right now.

All the best with it.
