Engine Management light came on Tuesday night about a mile from home. Stopped car checked oil and water both spot on and drove home perfectly.
Rang Dealer Wednesday morning and they said they would look at it if I left the car all day with them.
Drove to the Dealer and the engine Management light had gone off. Thought to myself a sensor is playing up and it would be a quick fix.
When back at 5.30 to pick it up to find the top of the engine stripped off and drive belts dismantled.
They have told me that there are more checks to do on car and it might need a new cylinder head and tensionors.
Think this is a bit EXTREME when the car drove perfect into there workshop.
Blow me down. July 21st my car developed same issues. Engine management light, engine switch into limp mode but advice was to NOT CONTINUE MY JOURNEY. Parked up for the night in a small village, thank goodness I wasn't in a major town or city centre, and had the car recovered to the pug dealership where I bought it 6 months ago.
This is a 10 plate 200 BHP vehicle acquired through Peugeot UK and has now covered 16000 miles.
Dealer rang me two days after the car was taken in to say it needs a new oil regulating valve! The valve is located inside the cylinder head!! New bits ordered, 3 week delivery!!! Including a new cylinder head!!!!
Received the call yesterday - 13th Aug - to say bits had arrived and that they will be starting work straight away. Expected completion 3 or 4 days.
Do Peugeot know if there an inherent fault with the head on these engine?
