Engine Fault: Repair needed

Hi all,

I've just acquired a Peugeot RCZ THP 200 Magnetic. 67K miles
Full black with matt arches and with red interior.

I love the car from first sight.

I have been driving it for 4 days and my heart was broken when the Engine Fault: Repair needed message came up on the dashboard. No noticable changes whilst driving it or any change in performance.

I understand from previous post from mainly in 2013 that it might only be the fuel? or maybe much worse.
I'm actually based in East London Near Canary Wharf. Can anyone recommend anything or anyone who could help me?

Many thanks,

LAMPi

:greetings-wavingblue: Welcome :text-welcomewave:

Let’s hope this is the first and last problem you have with your beautiful new ride :eusa-think:

If you know anyone who has an OBD II reader, you can check the fault codes. This will give you a better idea of what may be happening. The port is behind the ash tray in the centre console.

If you don’t know what the codes are, post them on here as there are plenty of members with experience of these things.

If you have no symptoms other than the engine fault message, it is just possible it’s an old code that hasn’t been cleared, but that is unlikely, so better to find out sooner rather than later and end up doing more damage.

Hi and welcome to the forum :greetings-wavingblue: shame your first post is about a problem  anyway super looking car the Black magnetic with the red interior  you’ll have to post some photos for us all to drool over
So engine warning light can be triggered by loads of things, if your car is still running great then hopefully it may sort itself out and disappear sometimes they do.
Major problems usually put the car into limp mode just to get you home and the fans keep running at full pelt. As Pete said try and get some codes then you will get a better idea of any problems you may have.
My advice use premium fuel and keep a check on the oil level and keep it topped up on the max level. And use the 0w-30 oil Total ineo first is the one Peugeot recommends.

Hopefully you’ll just get smitten with your new ride

Thanks guys! Luckily by the time I got to the workshop the fault has disappeared.

We run diagnostics but nothing shown. It’s due for a service in a couple of weeks time anyway so few things will be changed. Hopefully never see the message again.

Pictures to follow once I figure it out how to do it.
