Engine fault repair needed issue

I have an ongoing engine fault repair needed (efrn) problem.
The first time it occurred they said it needed a new turbo coolant pump (covered by purchased care plan) and new plugs (not covered)
Fault recurred within 2 months efrn, loss of power.
This time they say needs hp fuel pump(covered) and software update, not covered £110.
I have seen elsewhere on this forum that software updates should be routinely and freely carried out when your vehicle is in a dealership. is this right?
have any members had to pay for a software upgrade?
Any guidance appreciated,

As far as I know you shouldn’t have to pay for any software updates as they can be done when the car is in for servicing or repair.

Hi very interested to hear all this. I had very similar problems last year with my previous RCZ. Engine fault showing overheating even although the car wasnt overheating. Loss of power, some days struggling to start other days running fine. Took her to a Peugeot specialist for a diagnostic check and was told there were umpteen faults showing, two of them recall faults one of these being the coolant pump. Was also warned that the HP fuel pump was showing as a fault and the part alone was over £600 but the garage explained that this could be coming off the back of the recall repairs that were needed and advised me to get them fixed first then take it from there. Booked her into Peugeot for the recalls and thankfully she ran like a dream after the two recall faults were fixed, fuel pump fault and all others no longer showing.
