Hi All, hope someone can help?
I have a 2013 THP 200, with 62k, 2 weeks ago, doing 50mph on the way home when engine died, message on dash, engine fault service now, pulled over, plugged in my Carly tool, run the scan, all sorts of errors, all seem to relate to engine, P1062, VVT lift system, P1067 plus more but didn't screen shot them,
Called AA, he did his scan, same sort of reading, he thought maybe stuck VVT solenoid, so had it taken to local garage where I work, He did scan and got 15 electrical errors all relating to engine??
But has spark, fuel, compression, but still nothing, I swapped the battery control module as had a spare, like you do 🙂 but still nothing, he said he is struggling to find wiring diagram for RCZ, he is now waiting for his contact at local Peugeot garage to get back to him,
Anybody have wiring diagram for the Z?

I just want it back.

Thanks

I am only chucking this in as a wee bit of a start, others may be able to give you further.
P1062 & P1067 (and a few others with them) I’d be focusing on three things first.

Cam position sensor, starting to fail or fouled in some way can give misleading VVT/cam position, should be visible on live data on most diag machines.

Vanos (VVT) solenoid nut fully operating or at all, could be coil failure or again just fouled so cam isn’t reaching full forward position as total oil pressure to push the vanos lock pin. If removed foul can be seen on the tiny screens, and while out it can be electrically shunted to see it operating.

Vanos not engaging/disengaging thereby not reaching or coming off forward position. This one takes you into the rocker cover and can be checked by using a 22/27mm spanner to gentle apply pressure to rotate the camshaft to see if it is locked, I can’t think of how to explain how much force to use as to much is also bad so best left to a trained hand.

The 200hp has 2 of each.
Happy hunting and post what your tech finishes of with.

Hi,
so, after talking to my guy, and taking pictures, he has found the issue but not the solution, the motor that adjusts the VVT on the inlet Cam, is not getting power, if you look at the image, that shaft sitting above the notched gear should be in that cut out when in normal position,

Does anyone a wiring diagram for the VVT motor? He is waiting to get one.

Hi all,

update time, car still in garage, my guy has replaced the VVT solenoid, re-set the VVT adjuster, but still would not start, he then spoke to an electronics engineer, who said he had had this one before, when the the VVT solenoid failed it it blew a resistor in the ECU,
So, he sent my ECU off, and yes it had issues, it should have 3 power outs to the VVT solenoid but only has two, also the engine fan should have two but only has one,
This is now the problem, and he is trying to get hold off another unit to compare, may have to clone my car id across to new unit.

Will keep you updated,

Hope this sorts it for you, I’d hate not to be able to turn the key and go when the notion takes.

Hi all,

so, she's back, finally,

The fix was so much harder as my mechanic could not find a wiring diagram, so after getting the cloned ECU fitted to the car, still would not work??

This still kept throwing up codes, so started to unplug loads of sensors, and then he remembered that one of the earliest codes was to do with the engine fan and only running at one speed not two, I had replaced the fan relay resistor when he first mentioned this, but he had never unplugged the power to it,

Sure enough, when he unplugged the fan and plugged everything else back in, it burst in to life, he said he can't tell why, but the fan was pulling way too much power and this affected the VVT solenoid and parts on the ECU board.

She is now running fine and all clean again.

Wow, well done him for keeping at it. Was the resistor aftermarket of eBay or the likes or was it oem?
just asking for future and hope never to need to actually need.

ps did that mean all the other stuff, solenoid ecu etc we’re not needed or were they zapped from lower power usage.

Hi,
resistor was Amazon,
all the other faults were from the fan issue, so had to replaced, the guy on the isle of white even spoke to Bosch about a wiring diagram for the ecu but they said sorry we don't have any info on the ecu any more.
