electric engine fan coming on and an alert on dash

I am having issues with my rcz 156thp. As I pulled out of the drive the yellow triangle with an exclamtion mark in the center appeared on the dashboard. when I shut the engine off the main cooling fan turned on at full speed. This happens every time I attempt to run the car. I have scanned the car and the only DTC is P0482 which listed as permanent. I have replaced the front relay that controls the fan, but sadly this has not helped. I have tried to get a wiring diagram for the car but I have been unsucessful in my endevours. does anybody know where I can obtain the full schematics for an RCZ. As I need to trace wires to check for direct shorts etc.... Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

When you say relay, do you mean the two speed resistor relay on the radiator panel?
If the temp sensor faults it will run the fan hi speed as a precaution as true temp can’t be determined.
If you take a look at the temperature gauge in the car, is it shooting hi very quickly? or using you scanner look at live data and see what the ecu thinks the engine temp is. Hi chance that’s your issue.
Changing the sensor isn’t too bad a job on its, it’s only when you find that you need to do the thermostat housing (which the sensor is clipped into) things get a bit awkward.
You can buy a sensor relatively cheaply, plug it in without fitting it and if it was the fault the fan will go back to normal…….then fit it.

Just as a side note, when there is no sensor plugged in at all the fan runs hi speed, could be as simple as plug off or one of the two wires broke off at the plug.

Thank you for your reply, my temperature sensor is a lot smaller than the one pictured. I would say that it was about 1/2" in diameter with a fly lead attatched which plugs inti another lead under the battery tray. The temp reading does not read high when I first start the car and I havn't run it long enough to get it warm. I did check the sensor with my meter and it read approx 8 ohms. The new (wrong) transmitter reads 3.54 ohms and when placed in hot water the reading drops. I havn't tried it unplugged. I have just ordered the correct sensor and I will plug it in to try. I really need a wiring diagram so I can trace the wires back to the ECU. What I didn't mention before is that I have lost spark at plug no4, I have swapped coils and the problem remains at no4. I'm thinking that I have an electrical fault. Do you Know where I can obtain the wiring schematics?

The full wiring diagrams are available in the official Peugeot manuals. There are VM’s (virtual machines) to be found on the web, which run windows 95 with a hacked version of it. All Peugeot cars up to 2013 are in it. Do you have experience with this sort of thing? There are (also illegal) CD’s to buy, but the software is also freely available if you know where to look.
