So weeks into having my ecu remapped everything is great car feels so much different and as I've said in previous posts my fuel economy has also gone up which is real bonus but lately I've noticed something quite odd, my exhaust tips which I always keep pristine and shiny I hate seeing Zs with dirty exhaust tips but it's all too common a sight especially on commuter cars, after a few runs out my tips would always be sooting up around the bottom exits but since the remap they're clean as a whistle so obviously the car is now running leaner and thus I would presume throwing less carbon at the exhaust valves!
Got to be a winner!
My tips uncleaned after 2 weeks running.

Hi yes I always use shell advance or BP ultimate, the best cleaner for the tips is Autosolve it's a paste metal cleaner old bikers will know the stuff well!
If your tips have been neglected and really carboned up use the autosolve with some wire wool to remove all that crap you'll be surprised how well they come up, once nice and shiny just an odd wipe over which car wax now and then and they just wipe clean every wash

I had a problem with my quads
The left two tips had become yellow due to the higher temprature (?)
I thought that Nothing could be Done for that and was Kind of upset
But Then i read your Post and thought i should try to clean them with a metal polish
I used glanol and the silver colour came back to match the other 2 tips(yeaaahhh)
My ONLY problem is that the Dirt from the exhaust gas doesnt want to get away
Is There any product to use or i keep on rubbing with the same cream?
(there is An improvemt already but they are still Dirty)

Have you tried WD40 ?

Apparently that is very good for cleaning barbeques etc and could do the trick with your pipes?

Here in the UK as Neil said - Autosol is one of the very best chrome cleaners.

I have autosolve & it really does work, but when I first tried to get the marks off the bottom of my tips I struggled to get them as good as I wanted, and didn’t fancy using wire wool, so I tried this stuff & it got the carbon off straight away....

How does it wear?
I'm tempted to try some bits but don't want it looking a mess after 2 minutes.

I've had it on my spoiler for about three months and it's still as good as it was when I did it :)

Tips look great! Have to try that on mine, or the Plastidip trick. Which remap did you go for?

Stage one which gives more HP and torque and also a slight increase in economy, really impressed at how different the car now feels.
