Disappointed Newbie

Hi

Picked up my 63 plate diesel GT in Nera Black on Wednesday night, so far loving the car, however slightly disappointed that the passenger side wiper has failed and requires a new motor, not what I expected on a 6 month old car with less than 4000 miles. I have also noticed the rust on the hubs, which I am going to try and get fixed under the warranty.

Never mind will spend the weekend getting to know all about the car and it's getting fixed next week.

Love the forum, have been looking at whilst waiting on the right car turning up.

The rusty hubs always crop up. Seems to be a thing with new cars with big alloys. Best bet is to get some stuff yourself and you know its done right.

Sorry to hear about the wiper motor though that's the first time ive heard of that so here's hoping it's resolved quickly

Welcome aboard matey.

Do be too disappointed mate. The wiper motor will be a supplied part to Peugeot, this is the first one I've heard of failing so expect it to be a one off issue with a single part. The hubs are a well known problem and a quick search on here will show a number of people have had this issue including myself.

That said the pros for me FARRRRRR outweigh the cons

The HUBS rust Quicker than a "New York Minute" crap paint, same on the "Alloys" So plenty of wheel maintenance required for any rcz, Wiper ARM Thats Rare :)

Hi

Thanks for all your replies. I can't wait to get out in it at the weekend. It's unbelievable, We have had lots of really nice cars over the years, but this one is something else, it just seems to hypnotise all I want to do is look at and get out in it.

Welcome to the forum Heather

Sorry to hear about your wiper problem. Hopefully that will be resolved soon. There have been some issues of rusting wheel hubs on here but your dealer should be able to resolve that too.

In the meantime, enjoy your gorgeous new machine and please post some pics when you get chance.

Hi Heather, hubs are common on untreated metal, they need to be anodised to stop them doing that really, happens on a few of my cars but it looks worse than it is because the car has 19 inch alloys, wiper motor as said is rare on pugs, the only one ive had done died due to drowning (it was a common problem on the 306 because leaves built up in the gutter where the drainage hole was and flooded).
Enjoy your RCZ, great car :)

These are the hubs in a 6 month old Audi A5 (premier German brand) look familiar.

Yep. It's a common sight on modern cars with big alloy wheels.
