I have had an RCZ with a 1.6 THP engine from 2011 since April.
I bought the car with a leaking cylinder head gasket, so it wouldn't start.
I completely refurbished the RCZ with new distribution parts, water pump, multi-belt and tensioners, seals, piston rings and the cylinder head was ultrasonically cleaned, all valves and valve rubbers were replaced and the cylinder head was minimally planed.
The engine runs super nice and stable, no strange noises, the car drives fine.
The only problem is that the engine starts fairly easily when cold (not how it should be I think) but very difficult when warm. I have read the computer and no error codes can be found. My idea was the engine temperature sensor, but I can't find it!
Apparently that sensor is broken and the engine computer does not sense the temperature.
I have already looked up all possible drawings and photos, videos on the internet, but still haven't found the solution. My thermostat housing has two sensors, one is for the engine temperature for the dashboard and the other is still unknown to me, but the second one cannot be dismantled. Does anyone have an idea where I can find the engine temperature sensor or does anyone have experience with this problem? The car was rejected at the annual technical inspection due to the high CO2, so it is certainly something with the fuel system that is not right. My experience is the engine temperature sensor in other cars or a broken injector but with that 1600 THP no experience yet and what is really annoying no error codes.
Anyone have an idea?
Thanks
