Diesel non starter

Typical! Selling my RCZ 2.0HDi. Took a deposit from new buyer on Saturday and it wouldn’t start this morning

I put key in and turn and the engine seems to be turning over very quickly, just not starting up. Took 3 attempts of leaving it for a few seconds then trying again. Eventually started on 3 or 4th time

I’ve let the new buyer know this and offered her deposit back

Anyone got any ideas what the issue may be apart from a stubborn car that knows I’m selling?

Air in fuel line?
Turning over quickly kind of rules out battery and starter for me.

Apart from a sensitive Rcz who doesn't want to be sold....

If engine is turning over good , then it leaves the next problem in the circuit, fuel and ignition including delivery.

No fuel - no start. Check filters / pump / glo plugs etc. might have to take to garage to sort fault.

Hope its not fuel pump.

Possibly just a bleed back from the fuel filter and the pump hasn't time to replenish it before starting.
I always switch ignition on and wait about 10 seconds before turning key, this allows the system to be pressurised before starting.

Cheers all. Hopefully it’s the latter. Will see how it goes over the next couple of days. Been totally honest with new buyer and dropped another £100 off my asking price if she still wants it. Could very well be a nothing issue but my conscience wouldn’t allow me to sell without saying anything.
1st beat its missed in 3 years of ownership and it’s the week I’m selling on.
Thanks again everyone
