can anyone recommend a good diagnostic tool? Just got the dreaded engine fault light

Depends how much you want to spend I have a Topdon small scanner (which measured my failing fuel rail pressure HPF pump issue) & Foxwell Elite NT624 with free lifetime updates covers everything needed for most European cars & all systems

Because I'm an idiot and have owned lots of Peugeots I bought PP2k/Lexia/Diagbox and a laptop. It's what they use at Peugeot when you go in for a diagnostic, it does everything. Live data, Code reading and resetting, VIN coding, the lot.

I bought a ODBII for £2 , it does the job of finding the error and it works with a mobile phone making it easy and convenient.

With PP2K, I for some reason am not able to cleae faults. Unsure why.

Just used this £2 reader to diagnose p1337 code and found a free program to clear it after swopping all the ignition coils

I use the Car Scanner app with my Bluetooth dongle.
