Deleting/Editing a music file

I've had the car now for over a year and its only now I've tried to remove a music file/folder or edit one.
I can "add File" easy enough but deleting or editing one is like the Krypton Factor

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I can only get the "modify" page to highlite in "jukebox" if I insert a cd .
Everything else is highlighted for me to click on but not modify or edit, unless like I say I insert a cd or auxiliary source.
Do you have to be out of "jukebox" and using another source to modify a folder in "jukebox". :eusa-think:

I've just probably confused you more than I've confused myself.

Jassy, sat in the beast  right now, I have the Sat nav media fitted so here goes. Am listening to a cd, press media, scroll up one and select media menu, select jukebox management, modify content, then delete, then you can delete entire albums or individual songs......simples ;-) Hope this helps or knowing my luck got the wrong end of the stick and stating the bleeding obvious. Good luck though buddy

Cheers Chuzz.
so you cant delete or modify jukebox if your listening to something from jukebox. you have to be using a cd or auxillary for example to be able to modify jukebox.
I thought as much but found it odd.
thanks anyway m8

That's right jactac. I was playing with mine yesterday and discovered the same. Go onto any other medium and then select jukebox management and you can then delete what ever you select

Took me ages to realise what was going on.
Suppose it makes a bit of sense because this way you cannot accidentally delete anything whilst using jukbox, you have to knowingly use another medium then go back to jukebox to delete.

Only took me 16 months to suss this one out

Makes sense I imagine it must be difficult to delete tracks whilst the sat nav/ media unit is still accessing the mp3's

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to say thanks for the info here. I need to delete some tracks and couldn't work out how!!

I lost my entire hard drive because I had to have a whole new NG4 unit, and I've started to put some CDs back on. In my haste to find a quicker way I tried to put some on via USB and it copied some sound bites of me practicing my voice recordings for an IT tutorial. Ooh, and a sending you to sleep hypnosis thing. Neither of which I want to hear in the car!

Going outside to try deleting now.

Thanks guys.

Hi all...

I have a different problem... I copied some files, but missed the folder name, so decided to rename it... after rename it it shows exactly the same has previous... so decided to repeat in case i missed something... then said that folder name already exists... :S so decided to delete all... appear please wait and nothing... after 15mins decided to put in radio (i was on SD card) to see if it was blocked and disapeared the message... went back to see if it was deleted and nothing... tried do delete one by one.. and again please wait...

turn off the car, wait a while (is stupid, but once I had a freeze on Radio, and only that way it recovered) and the same happens...

so does any one know how to format the jukebox? without deleting the maps?

Thanks in advance,
dreamer

From memory and without checking, I'm fairly confident that in order to edit/delete from the jukebox you need to be in another media selection first, ie select radio, whist on radio go into media, then jukebox and edit away

Yesm I know... I was on SD playing and trying to delete in jukebox.. otherwise i don't even have the option to select the deletion... the problem is that i select to delete (selection or all) and appears a message "Please wait" and never ends... and don't delete...

Solved meanwhile :)

decided to reset to factory defaults and after restart the jukebox appeared cleaned... didn't understood what happened... I'll try again later to copy and delete again... at least I know that I can reset it and works :)
