Delayed delivery of my RCZ

Ive just been informed by my dealer that the delivery of my Pearl White RCZ from the February production has now been delayed by a month and I wont get delivery now until at least Mid June. :x

Has anyone else been informed that their RCZ delivery is delayed?

Theres no way I'm prepared to wait till June as my current lease runs out mid April and I'll have no car. My only alternative appears to be to purchase a 2010 RCZ from dealer stock elsewhere in the country. This is VERY VERY disappointing.

Bummer! I suppose it's because of your location as some others recently have been given 4-5 week delivery estimates. I hope you get something sorted.

Hi BangorRCZ

Well when I ordered in January I was quoted February production and shipping to Aus with an arrival round April for an April/May delivery. The quoted timing fits the normal expected shipping from Europe (weve had BMWs and Mercedes shipped in the past with a 6 week shipping delivery). Now the dealer is indicating my confirmed February production car wont be shipped to me for at least another month. Im not sure if Peugeot has reallocated my car to other European customers, or there is a general delay from the factory due to a component issue or simply that my dealer has stuffed up my order. Ive seen other posts from European customers who were locked into the February production and are still expecting their delivery in March so Im trying to find out the truth about why mine is delayed.

Based on past lack of communifcations I dont have much confidence in with my dealer any more. It wouldnt surprise me if this is their stuff-up. Im now seriously considering moving to another dealer and buying a stock or demo model. My order isnt special - its just a standard 200THP model so apart from the 2011 build date theres no special reason to wait.

The problem with "travel for it" when it comes to the Land of Oz is the distances!

Anyway, I agree, your dealer seems to be a moron so have a search around and hopefully find something to catch your eye  . Good luck.

Wow that really sucks, Mate.

When we were talking to our dealer he was saying there was a manual Pearl White "anniversary" model on the boat that was due at the end of March(?). We weren't interested in it because even though we liked the colour, the roof, mirrors and luggage just didn't float out boat so we would have been paying a premium premium for the colour.

Anything more specific than that we were told we would have to wait for the Feb production run and wouldn't be here till June/July at best.

That's why we went with the Nera Black - was on the lot, in a manual, with the wheels we liked. The only thing we paid for that we weren't overly interested in was the Monacco Pack that was already fitted. Glad we did though, the sound system is great and the missus loves the directional headlights.

p.s. what was your wishlist again? My local dealer has quite a few RCZs on the lot in different colours and configs - including an automattic pearl white annivesary model in the showroom.

Maybe some rough seas on the way to Oz. Hmmm...a strong headwind maybe?

Thanks Glenn.

It was a pearl White manual 147kw with 18" wheels. I'm flexible on options and wheels as long as its a 147kW manual. I'm even flexible on colour (I like the Mercury Grey too). My own dealer actually has an Opal White in exactly the same specs as the Pearl White I ordered so I'm even considering that one. Ive even suggested it to them but as usual Ive had no response so I'm not even sure I want to work with them any more. It sure looks like I'll be buying elsewhere.

Whats your dealers name - I'll look them up and see what they have. I'm happy to travel for the right car. For the sake of $100 I'm also prepared to fly to Brisbane or Melbourne and drive it back although I understand the Peugeot dealerships will transport cars amongst themselves if required.

Interesting your dealer said June/July delivery from a February production which now matches my dealers updated delivery time - although their initial delivery time was quoted as April/May so someone has got it very wrong.

As for the anniversary model, like you I agree there is too much additional stuff that I'm not prepared to pay for

They do have an Opal white in a manual with black onyx rims, but it is the demo car - had about 2,500kms on it when we drove it.

I think they have at last one Silver.

I suspect his June/July may have been more trying to dissuade us from waiting and it turned out prohpetic. Or he was on the money and your dealer doesn't have a clue...

I'll flick you a PM with the details.

Hi Glenn.

I spoke to your dealer in Canberra and they offered me the Opal white demo. I've asked them for a quote. Sorry it wasn't the same guy you spoke to but when I catch up with him tomorrow i'll try to get your name brought up.

However, Ive been discussing the situation with my dealer and they say I was told the wrong build date and my car was never going to be delivered in April/May. It was always going to be a June car. Anyway they have found an unallocated Mercury Grey 200THP arriving in April which they have offered me. It has more options (19" alloys and Monaco pack/zenons) which isn't a problem. I've also checked out several other dealers along the East coast of Australia and found another Mercury Grey 200THP in Brisbane although it's a 2010 build. Mercury was my initial choice so I'll consider it and let them know tomorrow.

Ok, Ive settled on the Mercury Grey model my original dealer has offered me with the Monaco pack and 19" midnight silver alloys. Its currently on a ship and is due to arrive here on April 1st. Hopefully I will have it by mid April which is back on schedule.

Mercury was my original choice but I changed to Pearl white just before ordering. I'm actually not disappointed that Ive reverted to Mercury Grey again because its will be much easier to maintain and I still think it looks great (they all look great though).

Now that I'm back on track lets hope it stays that way.

Good choice. I have the merc and it's a great colour for working with, the first grey car I've ever had. Freddie hasn't had a wash for around four weeks (hangs head in shame  ) and really looks very good  , much better than white would by this stage. Hope you get your wheels soon  .

I can't really say anything though, washed Pearl last weekend for the first time in February !
However, she has stayed clean ALL week because we've had no rain
