DECOKE.

Has anyone carried out a decoke on a rhh 163hp diesel. My inlet manifold is badly coked up. I have tried 4 cans of Liqui Moli with very limited results. A scope has been put up the manifold and it shows a mass of carbon mush. The EGR has been cleaned. It was not too bad apart from the pipe up into the manifold. It seems to me the EGR system is the culprit. We have to suffer the EU compliant regulations on our island with only 500,000 people in an area the size of Scotland and winds of the roaring 40s. I was hoping that the manifold will come off for cleaning without too much trouble. Any ideas. Allan.

Carried out the decoke. The dealer is paying for it due to their fault in using the wrong oil for all the services. ( not low ash ).
I still have problems with the cruise and turbo dropping out when extra boost is required, when climbing a hill for example. So the carbon build up was not the total of the problem although the engine is smoother and revs out ok but I still have the cruise and turbo problem.
If I stop for a while and continue on, engage cruise, all is well until the next hill or need to overtake (a bit scary if no boost).
The motor is the PSA DW10CTED4 diesel as in the Peugeot.
Much has been said about the Doser valve being faulty. Does anyone know of a way to test if the doser is not doing its job.
A new doser is not cheap over here so I need to be sure what is the fault and how to remedy it. The dealer suggests a new engine management computer will do the trick. With a new computer and doser the parts cost will be over $7,000.
I am hoping it is a simple fix,of course.
MDAD has had similar problems with his wifes CRZ.
Any suggestions?? Allan.

If wrong oil has been used in all services then it may have damaged the turbo, if that's the case then the garage is at fault

Sounds like getting a new turbo would be cheaper.

Any warranty left with the car?

drdino. DTCS??? Allan.

tianorth. Hope its not the turbo. The faults show air management faults, hence the doser or the electrovalve being suspect.
Is there a way to test the turbo? Allan.
