Curborough Midweek Trackday - Monday 9th April

The PSCUK have 15 places for a full day of track action on Monday 9th April at the Curborough Sprint Track. These events are a good place to try your first trackday as they are run like an informal sprint event, with only one car on the track at a time so no one is going to run into you. No helmet is necessary and as can be seen in the videos below it becomes a good place to practice how your car handles. The course may look simple, but it is very technical with double apexes, blind crests and 45 degree corners which can be enjoyably navigated by a combination of lift off oversteer and handbrake. On top of this, it is a good social event with everyone helping each other out and swapping rides etc.

Curborough is situated off the A38 trunk road between Burton on Trent and Lichfield in Staffordshire.
The venue is Brown Signed once you are off the A38, and also the A515 from the West.

For tickets, click here: http://shop.psooc.com/index.php?rout...ory&path=38_53

For more info on the venue: http://www.curborough.co.uk

Tickets are priced at £37.50 for PSCUK members and £45 for non members. A nice saving for members. If you are not a member here is a good reason to join. We are also planning another Curborough later on in the year over a weekend, so with these two and Pugfest membership works out free. If members tickets sell out and you are a member who wants to go, please let me know and I will sort it for you. Any questions feel free to ask here or pm me

A quick note to say the date has now changed to the bank holiday monday ( 9th april ) due to Curborough being double booked. Hopefully it will help with people not needing the time off :)

Henry has added:

There is no rush to get on track as we will have plenty of time. What we do want to ensure if that we get all the paperwork out of the way early so we can just get on and enjoy ourselves.

There will be wrist bands for those that have completed the paperwork and you are not allowed on the track without one.

For this event, helmets are optional. This is classed as a private test day. There will be no official timing.

Common sense if the most important thing for this event. If a car looks unsafe (in the PSC's opinion), it won't be allowed on the track. If someone is not being sensible or considerate, then they will not be allowed on. However in over 10 years, we have never had any issues and I don't expect any on Monday

Facilities are spartan, but there are flushing loos. Food can be got nearby, but it is a short drive. Shelter is pretty minimal so wrap up warm and bring something waterproof in case. There is a flat tarmac area as a paddock so you can empty your car there of spares if necessary and it is pretty secure with just us there and not much surrounding.

If you feel you need to speak to someone in the club on an issue, then both myself and Mark are easily recognisable! I am the tall one in the green CTI. Mark is the one which looks like Jesus!

Looking forward to the event :)

Firstly thanks to all that bought tickets for Curborough, without you it would not have happened. Thanks also for everyone who turned up. Given the forecast of poor weather it was impressive to say the least. I think we were lucky in some ways it did not hoof it down for the best part of the day.

Given the feedback I have had so far it seems to have been an enjoyable day for all. I personally thoroughly enjoyed the day and watching great pugs being ragged and played with was entertaining and makes helping organise an event worthwhile. Seeing Dan’s rally car sideways and launching itself out of the corners was awesome. That and the mk1 fiesta and the M3 topped it off a treat

Last and most important thanks is for it being an incident free day on track! Roll on the repeat pencilled in for later in the year.

Check out the pictures at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Peugeo...72242739468914 and feel free to add yours to the timeline and I will add them to the album.
