Cruise Control

I'm confident the computer uses the throttle far more efficiently then a human, although crests are something they don't understand. But anyway, as I've pointed out, manual control is a split second away, I do disengage c c, a simple button press coming up to a slow spot.

My car definitely increases/decreases by 1 MPH per click on the controls and by 5 MPH for longer/constant pressure regardless of speed as I have just tested it on the airfield at speeds up to and beyond 70 MPH

The speed limiter is useful if, for example, you're driving through a winding village and you don't want to squash people.

I find the cruise more useful in the dreaded 50mph average speed limits, because generally people are sticking to that speed constantly. If they slow down a bit then I just tap down on the CC. Leaving a decent enough gap behind them means that I'm speed matching them way before I'm close.

That's when I tend to use mine and in exactly the same way. It's almost like driving an automatic

I find CC is more economical too and that does involve hills on the Yorkshire Wolds.

Ok, so it seems like you guys don't seem to have the same problem.

I tried it again today on speeds of around 40-50 and it seemed to be going up 1mph per press. Maybe it's only at the higher speeds it acts as I described.

Without killing yourselves, could someone test it from 70mph upwards for me please! (Only if you're on an Autobahn with no speed limit obviously)

Mine alters by 1mph at any speed with a light tap of the switch and alters by 5 mph by holding the switch, again at all speeds. ie, up too 70 mph and higher.
I've also noticed a definite improvement in mpg when using cruise on motorways.

I have to totally honest here though, I'm not a huge fan of CC, I just dont feel "in control", and it sort of makes me lose concentration a bit, you creep up on other cars without realising it. :?
