This reminds me of a problem I've had with the radio/CD in the 307 I had before the RCZ.
It wouldn't play some single CD I had bought.
This CD turned out to be "copy controlled" as it is called (see
http://thejon.koan.net/EMIDefeated.html ) which means that it isn't actually compliant with the CD standard so that not every CD reader can read it.
These CDs were introduced to make it more difficult to rip CDs using a PC CD-ROM drive.
For the 307 Peugeot used 2 radio/CD units, the one I had (made by SiemensVDO) and one made by Clarion.
My dealer knew this and they still had a spare Clarion radio which they offered to swap mine for.
The swap took a bit longer as expected because the radio has to be programmed for the speaker layout of the car which they hadn't done initially so that my rear speakers didn't work and also the front/back fader setting was unavailable in the sound menu. Also the 307 was just out then (my 110hp HDi was the first delivered in the Netherlands with that engine) so the dealer didn't have much experience with it yet.
After I went back the mechanic tried for at least an hour to get it going but finally gave up telling he'd ask Peugeot for help.
But when I started the car to drive back home I noticed there was sound in the back again and all was OK!
So my advice is to check whether your original CDs are copy controlled which you can see by it having this type of logo
instead of the regular CD logo.
