Hey guys

My rcz is drinking about a pint of coolant every few days, oil is clean and its not smoking so it not leaking into the engine , car runs sweet, i cant see any obvious wet patches but when hot i can hear a slight hissing but more like air than water, where could the coolant be leaking from and where to? any ideas as im stumped, thanks

petrol Car?
Have a good look around the thermostat housing pipe cluster.
Usually a good starting place, not expensive to replace at home, just blooming awkward as airbox and its associated pipes need to come out of the way even to get a look at it as it starts to go round the back of the engine.
Oh then there is the oil filter housing to the block (on the front of the engine), seals harden and dry, usually an oil stain starts to show in the area as well as pink crust from the coolant. To change its out with the cat and wise to change to oil feed and return pipes for the turbo while your there.
Then there is a rubber pipe that comes down from the coolant bottle and goes up the back of the engine behind the water pump, clamps to the timing chain side where the block and sump join, sometimes misaligned after chain replacements can rub on the drive shaft and start to leak.
Ah heck, failing water pump But at least it’s nearly visible with a torch and mirror.
Sometimes overlooked, the expansion bottle cap can perish too
loads more straight forward areas like rad hoses etc, but you probably covered these already.

I am going to stop now, didn’t mean to put the fear of….into you, just known areas.
