It’s disengaged when cold, (speeds up warm up time) but as you have 40 miles+ done at a steady 90c so you can tick that off. Mayo staying away on decent runs, so prob just condensation. Monitor oil and water for a few days/weeks and start enjoying.

I agree with EddieJ, if there is a problem with a water pump drive then they tend to rattle which is very noisy and the temp will be high or even fluctuating as drive sometimes engages and sometimes not. just monitor levels and get a feel for the car. Enjoy you RCZ.

Very tidy, now get some speed limits broke.
Thats very kind... Needs quite a lot of little cosmetic improvements after I have sorted the bigger jobs.... Coolant leak > Thermostat 99% sure done; passenger electric window ... I got a kit off ebay arrived today to re do the regulator... a job for when it stops raining ; Rocket Cover ... engine oil leak timing chain end . Its a tidy car, only 41k miles .... What you probably cant see from the photos are the the minor dents and scuffs , kerbed alloys , missing centre cap logos... mismatched door mirrors , one is white , other orange :) I quite like the orange , so might paint the nearside to match - still thinking on that one . was wondering if there were any form of body side moulding for the RCZ? Cosmetics will be done , just need baseline working car first.

Break Speed Limits!! ... I wish that I could get to the speed limit :p most of my driving is at a stop start standstill or 20 mph ,thank LTNs and Council / Mayors!!!! . if only the roads were clear enough to not hit potholes too just seem the price of a new tyre :( ,

They all seem to leak at the rocker cover gasket, age and heat cycles seem to go for them quicker than most other engines. It’s a bit fussy to get them off, the other pipes etc in the way first. Just make sure you clean it to a squeak on the cover and the head, no sealant except for the tight internal ‘corners‘ vac pump side and then only a little iddy biddy dab. It’s probably from the area as seen below, resist the temptation to use sealant here. Use a torque wrench when tightening back down and follow the sequence, they are only something like 9nm (I’ll try and remember to check). The oil filter housing gasket also likes to do the same, if it is leaking looking from underneath up the side of the cat you’ll see a black mucky patch…..pig to do, but still diy doable.

I had been looking for a nice kit for mine, but there only seems to be generic kits for them (affordable anyway) and the boss said I am not allowed to waste any more on them. Tho I do sort of like notion of the orange mirrors with an orange splitter and short upkick spats just at the last 12” of the rear quarters, just to liven it up.
….i also want an exhaust…..and to have it tested on a rolling road to see what I gained from turbo and timing mods…..and I want it tuned on up….and I want the wheels re-refurb’d same as the 308cc, gunmetal, diamond cut with a smoked lacquer (mmmmm)….and I want….
Then there is the list of wants for the 308cc…hate to admit it, but she might be right, just this once.

Yes leaking as circled and in general all around the cover at the front I can see the oil slick. Cant see that its losing oil, just very slow weeping , and I presume this is what's been recorded on the MOT as an advisory for last few years... Having done the thermostat im not afraid anymore of any task , although I know my limits... I will clean off what I can see and see how bad it is. I dont actually think is bad , its just been in the state it is for a long time and obvious . Urgent is sorting the window out . . then hopefully ready for this years MOT due in March. Also considering Lanoguarding the underside , and I expect cleaning out the side skirts / sills . Every car I have ever have with plastic skirts has always collected load of mud and caused corrosion of the sills. Hopefully everything is sound and if I get to it before any rot starts

Going Orange with the mirrors if I can source , or I will find another in white , not fussed so for moment mismatched will do until I find the right one. Mirrors seem to be very expensive

Easy to get carried away with spending on cars... been there !! good 'sometimes' to have a boss to keep me in line too... :)
