Coolant level sensor….Finally bought one..

As the above heading finally bought an sensor with the amount of times warning msg comes up to check coolant….and yet the coolant is on the max mark

I was so so tempted to get a copy part eBay etc £7.95….but we know which road that goes down playing up from day one etc…

So bit the bullet and bought one this morning local dealership inc vat…£79.00……Still can’t believe I paid that for it…but if stops that message from popping up every time I drive the thing I’m happy…Will be looking at changing it over weekend doesn’t look to hard of a job…

Any you guys doing same job part no below….

Yep that's a bit steep but I found like a lot of sensors on these cars only buy the Bosch ones I think I paid around £35ish for mine from the local dealer but that was Trade price as I have a contact in the Parts Dept but I did buy one from ebay same part no etc & it lasted a week but definitely wasn't a Bosch part

OK Finally fitted today must be one of the easiest jobs I've ever done....and yes warning light still coming on!!!...Knocked engine off and on couple times hoping to clear but still showing sign...Will take it for a drive in the week hoping it will clear...

I'm done for tonight Time for a beer....

Would of saved me £79…..Will give it a go in the week if it doesn’t clear that plug be coming off……now where’s that 3rd can of beer..

You need the code wiped off then should be OK if it persists may be the Temp sensor is faulty ?

I Finally have disconnected the plug even after giving it a reset warning message still coming up….So for now no warning messages …..until the next warning message…

I personally would never disconnect a wiring plug from anything on a cars electrical system & definitely not a sensor as the warnings are a precursor to informing you something is going wrong with the systems they don't appear unless they are triggered by the ECU/BCM failsafe data

Totally get where you coming from but until I get to the bottom of it as to why it’s coming on it’s staying off…I’m even in two minds to get a cheap £12 sensor off eBay just to give it a try for the hell of it
