Hi mate. I just purchased a launch edition and have the same thing. For the first 4/5 minutes sounds like a diesel . Then goes lovely and quite. Wierd.

I've got a Mk2 GT200, I've noticed it seems a bit noisier for a few minutes when first starting. I thought it might be just until the oil warms & circulates fully, but my technical knowledge on these matters is very limited.

Runs perfectly other than that & it's not really a problem :eusa-think:

The noise will be from the timing chain.
The oil will be at the bottom of the engine on cold start and needs time to lubricate the chain.
However some earlier engines have had the timing chain tensioner replaced with a heavier version to prevent timing problems that can actually result in major engine damage.
My HDi has a traditional belt so is not affected but I'm sure there are topics on here about the THP tensioner problem.
