While driving the clutch pedal went straight to the floor. I drove the car for 5 miles in first gear. [that was fun, still 50 miles from home]

I have a RCZ 2.0 2010 GT. I got the car recovered to my local garage.

Does this model have a clutch cable, ? If so how big a job is it.

regards Dave

I had the fly wheel loose a tooth and lost 1st , 3rd ,5th and reverse .
You have to drop the subframe to do the clutch and not a diy job and need a ramp .

It does not have a cable, the actuator is hydraulic, it uses the same fluid as the brakes.

Thanks for your reply ,Its been fixed now, It was the clutch slave cylinder.
Apparently if it was the master cylinder the gear box would have to be removed..
Also had a front wheel bearing replaced, and a tyre sensor .
All for £220.00 supply and fit, Which I though was very reasonable.

hi dave, are you sure you were told the master cylinder for clutch involves need for gearbox to come out, i thought the master was behind pedal on drivers side but gearbox on passenger side. about to work on an rcz and slave or master have gone, i know the slave is straightforward to fix, but i found 1-2 hours work as estimate for job for master. are you sure you were told the gearbox has to come out for the master cylinder? thanks

I believe the slave cylinder is the ludicrous internal type (bellhousing) necessitating so much unnecessary time, work and expense
