Checking oil level

Now I have a petrol RCZ I have come across the problem of seeing the amount of oil on the dipstick.

I now use this method.

That's not strictly correct. Anyone can request to join the Group. You don't have to know an existing member or be invited.

It's a closed group to avoid spammers. Public groups suffer much more with this problem than a closed group. There's nothing secretive about it. It's just like using a password to access this Group. It just helps to keep an eye on new members and stop trolling (not that we have suffered with that TBH).

You can be a member of the Group on FB without having to post anything on FB. My personal page is completely private to only a few people. I don't use FB like the majority of people. FB is actually very good for Groups and special offers, etc.

Having the group closed to avoid this *potentially* happening is fine but it also means genuine people cannot see or contribute to the group because they don't know it's there. Would it not be easier to make it visible to all and just report any misbehavers? Just an idea...

That's not true either. You can see its there, if you look for it. The same as you would if it was a public group. It's not a "secret" group - those you can't see.

I'm in many FB Groups, public, closed and secret. The public groups get far more spammers and trollers than closed groups. You can usually tell who is trying to join the group just to spam from their profiles and other little clues. We nip them in the bud before they get chance to post.

We have a great, friendly community on the FB Group and we want to keep it that way. Hence the very good reasons for keeping it a closed Group.

If it wasn't closed then they could still read the informative posts and might encourage them to join but your group, your rules I guess.

Who said it was a clique or contained cliques?

It's an honest, open Group. Pure and simple. Members who enjoy their Z's and sharing photos and information and as well as having a bit of fun and banter. We work hard looking at ways to keep it fresh and interesting for all our members, to keep them involved and wanting to return and contribute on a regular basis. To that end, I think we have been very successful. Furthermore, we have regular competitions, sponsors and many companies giving us Group discounts as well as first opportunity to buy RCZ merchandise, etc.

FB isn't for everyone but neither are Forums. People have choices.
