Alright alright Cole Trickle...sadly the 500 doesn't fare so well in the winter so Jen will mostly be relying on me and public transport. A point I shall labour when(/if) the snow falls.

A 208 Allure, huh? Very nice. I was looking at them closely today on the dealership. They're really rather cool. There are a couple of really dodgy colours, which colour did Avril choose?

it's white should be red to go with her temper  she's had 3 peugeot's prior to that heep of a corsa the turbo lag is longer than a winter night same engine as the fiat 500 Diesel but they can go anywhere in the snow so can the 500  like that car mate why dont you like it :wtf:

I don't know if this is of interest to anyone but I took a quick snap of the winter contis tyres to try and demonstrate the grip whilst cleaning my car this morning. Predictably, there has been zero snow or ice to test them out on thus far but I have no complaints about tyre roar, grip or handling in the wet or the dry.

 Maybe my car is a bit like Spider-Man now then. I may fit a web slinger!

Just read your post about the 500. It's a fine wee city car. You can slap it into the tightest of spaces especially once you engage the "city steering". I hate the stop start technology so disable it as soon as I get in. That's said, I hate it in every car I've ever driven. Hers is the (ahem) Sports version so has dinky little alloys, spoiler and chrome exhaust. I have to confess, it does better than my own car when you need to transport 4 adults!! Just gave it a quick clean as I felt bad for it next to mine glistening in the sunlight. The beauty of it is it literally takes about 10 mins to thoroughly clean!!!

I had one as a courtesy car - not a fan for my kind of journeys . It also had worse economy than mine as trying to keep up with motorway traffic meant pretty high revs from the 1.2 l engine.

Good stuff RON! We are forecast snow on Friday (although that's about as reliable as Mystic Meg's predictions) and I must be one of the few people hoping that it does make an appearance so that I can road test these bad boys. However, they have proved themselves to be more than capable in all road conditions that I have experienced thus far. There is no discernible difference in terms of comfort or tyre roar. Now...weather gods here my prayer..."let it snow, let it snow, let it snow".

I wondered that too. I am only going on reports about the price of the equivalent summer ones. Maybe I ought to ask for a price of the summer ones when I get the winter ones fitted on Thursday.

What is the English translation of this? :helpme:

Lol! It's a street terminology born of the ghetto RON! I thought you were "down with the kids"?!

In short, it originates from the expression "home boy". People you grew up with/have trust/faith in. Or, as I prefer to think of it, your "brother from another mother".

Thank you for that explanation Mr Rizz. However I still remain totally in the dark. What on earth does a half brother have to do with the cost of winter tyres?
