Centre dash LCD in RCZ

Hi, i have an issue with my central LCD display...................it starts off all fine and dandy but after a while the screen starts to have some fuzzy lines across it then it gets worse till you can`t make out anything on the screen ,though the info is still there but un-readable............
Think it needs a new data cable from the radio unit to the screen unit as I can make the fuzz appear when i play with the cable once the dash unit is lifted out.........
BUT ..........
The cable is not supplied by dealer........

Anyone know how to overcome this..? :helpme:

Thanks

The non nav radio has an orange display in the centre of the dashboard.

Which radio is it? RT6 or NG4.

Has the pop up display been taken out at some point in the past? I seem to recall somebody on here mentioning that the cable can get trapped if not careful when putting it back in which causes these kinds of issues...

it looks like it has been out prior......but no trapped wiring just when you wiggle/pull/stretch the wiring you can make the fuzzy lines appear.....hence the need to replace that loom part.......

There is a thread on here about this.
The lead has a name LC something. It's apparently like an HDMI lead but with specific connectors.

I'd look for it but Tapatalk is crap for that sort of thing.

Hi all, well , I took the cable out and stripped it back after doing continuity test on the wires , had 4 broken , so chopped the section out about 3 inches worth and re-joined them with solder and heat-shrink...tested it back in the car and all fine......YAY..!!.....Then wrapped it all up again in the tin foil lining , self-amalgamating tape and refitted it all together...........Took a fair while but all done again and happy...............Thanks for all your messages guys........Cheers.....

You didn’t take any photos of your repair by any chance? Could be valuable to owners in the future. Where abouts were the breaks in the cable?
