Used last of my ironx today and noticed some tar spots on lower sides of the car, so bought some trix of eBay from carpro the folks that do ironx & tarx. Basically a combination of both that does the job in 1 bottle cutting down on time, just wondering if any ones used it if its any good :eusa-think: same price as ironx so saving lock of pounds if it works :D

I've not used it but it gets very favourable reviews. Actually it would seem that Carpro make lots of good products. They were at the RCZ Detailing Day last year and they are very knowledgeable. They have a chemist/scientific background so have put this to good use to create some very effective products.

Look forward to seeing what you think of it and how it compares to using separate items for tar and iron.

It won't be happening at that venue again as the business is no more, due to family issues  Was a fantastic and informative day nonetheless

Got some of this the other day. It stinks bad! Wear gloves is my advice.

Haven't used it on the paint work but sprayed it on the alloys. It cut through the brake dust and other crap on them. Brilliant stuff, if only it didn't smell so bad!

I have a sample bottle size of TRIX. Today though I have used the Tardis & Iron ex separately and was amazed how much iron was on the car and it was covered in tar spots beneath that winter coat that I removed. However after this treatment a wash and a spray of Reload, I was disappointed to find that the surface is as smooth as sand paper  Much more time and effort required :eusa-think:

Our two cars are the same. Particularly covered in tar along the bottom of the car all the way around. The paintwork is very rough to the touch. When I get more time they will both have a treatment of Iron X and Tardis. I'm prepared to put up with the smell because it does a great job of getting rid of all those nasties. It may even call for a clay too. It doesn't help that there are road works near us which have been going on 10 months which includes road widening and the laying of tar, which has properly dried before we are allowed to drive on it :(

Just ordered some of this as I have what looks ike rust spots all over mine. Took me ages to polish off just one spot so thought I'd try this.

My question is how powerful is it? Can I be lazy and just spray on, then rinse off or do I have to work each iron spot individually?

Thanks.

I've not used it but you will spray it on a panel at a time, leave for stated dwell time, agitate a panel at a times- just wipe over with a soft cloth (not your wash mitt) and thoroughly rinse. Like any of these products, don't let it dry on the car.

This is great thanks. Would I wash the car first then do trix or rinse, do trix then wash?

You need to wash the car first, to remove the muck and grit, etc then spray on Trix. You don't have to dry the car before applying Trix. Just make sure that once you've sprayed it on and agitated it, that you thoroughly, thoroughly rinse it all off and then you can dry the car.
